You will have a little more. The bottom of the fuse will be mostly red so the wings will stand out with the white and black on the tips. Then there is the vinyl. After a few flights if it needs more I can always add more stripes or change it up slightly but I think the top being busy lends to the bottom not being busy. We shall see though.

Here's some pics of the plane with wings about half done and some of the holes I drilled. Note that I have not cleaned up the fuse yet or cleaned up the holes. I focused on the wings for the last couple of days. DSC01483.JPG DSC01484.JPG DSC01482.JPG DSC01485.JPG DSC01486.JPG

Interested in how much weight reduction it comes out to be. Looking nice.

Just a little heads up Sam, on my plane with a DA100 and stock mufflers I was very nose heavy. I put two 2600 li-on packs back against the rudder post, rudder servo under the left stab and still added 2 oz's to the tail. I guess if I used two rudder servos back there I would'nt need the lead. Anyway hope your build goes well and hopefully I'll get to come up north and fly with you and the rest of the PAU gang sometime this summer.

that plane already flys great at its current weight. I cant imagine what it would be like lighter. ![]()

I'm aware of the nose heavy tendancy. I'll adjust batts as necessary. As for weight savings? I don't think its that much. At most it'll be 1lb but I imagine less than that. I wasn't really trying to save weight as much as balance out the plane better by guessing ahead of time. Well I put the top wings on tonight with the bottom wings on. Scheme looks pretty agressive and sweet if I must say so myself. More pics to follow tomorrow

Almost forgot. I used some of my Klett Hinge stash and made the rudder removable. Wasn't hard to do at all.

Even if it is only a pound of weight savings, that is 1 pound less that goes up in the air. It will be interesting to see how much the servos at the back and the weight savings you did does to the CG. Mine balanced at the recommended CG point, but the 3 batteries, two rudder servos and Eq6 are all fairly close together at the back in order to get that. I would be nicer if you can spread them out a bit, there is a lot of room to do that.
