On my 42% we weighed the rudder and stabs before holes and after. Then weighed the servos. The servos were a tad lighter than the holes we made. So I figure this to be a wash or pretty close which is fine with the servos in the aft.

It is looking good and interesting recover and assembly. Can't wait to see what it looks like when all done and hear how it flys.

More updates. The wings are done (minus the yellow on the top). DSC01487.JPG I mounted the cowl and glued the motor box together. DSC01493.JPG

Man I'm beat. I spent the day stripping and sanding the landing gear. I was going to paint them black but after talking this weekend at BellAir I decided that mirrored gear would look better. I got about 2/3 of it done. I also sanded a very tiny bit on the cowl.......just couldn't do that for long today. I then finished up the motorbox. I pinned it and added my blindnuts for the motor. I then mounted the EQ6, the optic kill, the 32oz fuel/40oz smoke tanks and then painted up the insides gray. Then hit it with some fleckstone (though my can clogged up before I could get 100% done with the fleckstone). I also managed to finish up the ailerons. All I really have left to do is........ 1. Yellow pinstripe on top wings/ailerons 2. Glue top ailerons in 3. Cover elevator 4. Cover Rudder 5. Glue Rudder in 6. Cover Fuse 7. Sand cowl/wheel pants 8. Sand gear a little more 9. Paint cowl/wheel pants 10. Install radio gear. Not too bad of a list for just shy of 2 weeks. I'll have some pics tomorrow. Also played around with the Secret I'm bringing......its nice.

I'm still plugging along trying to finish up the fuse for the most part. But: I have no more long pieces of Yellow so I won't be able to finish the fuse before the Big Bird

Here's some pics. I'm sure the Speckle added some weight but I like the way it looks. Plus I decided to use a picture of a glass cockpit for the instrument panel so I saved some weight there. I also stripped the covering off the inside of the hatch so it wouldn't wrinkle once I mount the canopy. I'm not sure you can see it but I cut a hole in the back of the hatch as well to fit a pilot through. I'll be covering the fuse in that spot to match. Finally I managed to tear the covering on the struts for the wings. So I had to remove those to recover it. What a PITA. Now I'm debating stripping them and making em shiny with the gear. I've decided to eat dinner tonight, so I'll finish up the sides of the fuse after ward (minus the long yellow strips) DSC01498.JPG DSC01499.JPG DSC01500.JPG DSC01501.JPG DSC01502.JPG
