![]() I hope that change brings back the scale folks who used to come to Nall, last few years has been nothing but 3D.

I wonder if they will let me fly my scale YAK at the 3D secondary flight line, lol. And if I fly in a circle will they kick me out, double lol. I like to watch scale planes, especially war birds, I hope there are plenty of them. They are really fun to watch land - http://media.putfile.com/Bomber. Really, kidding aside, I hope there are tons of different planes – not just so called 3D. In my opinion that’s what will make this a fun event. It’s my understanding from reading back in this thread that the mix was about 50 / 50. Fifty percent 3D ( not sure what your definition of 3D is, I can see where hovering over the runway being a problem, most all other maneuvers can be done in the pattern) and 50% all other – not sure what all other is, scale, semi scale, fun scale etc. I think following the rules, and not the style you fly will keep the intimidation factor down, and keep all types of planes in the air. I have never been to this fly-in; this is my first year, so I can’t speak from experience on the problems that occurred in past events. From what I have read, and heard from people that have attended, it seems that the wait to fly and number of flights is the problem, not the type of flying. The more logical hope would be for the pilots to be equally distributed over both runways. The reason I’m coming this year is because there is going to be a second runway, and maybe I can get a couple of flights in, props to the triple tree people. I think it’s great that the triple tree people have given a whole runway to 3D flyers, so that they can fly the few maneuvers that might interfere, or are perceived to interfere with traditional flying. The only restrictions I’m aware of, on the secondary runway use, is that you need to be on 2.4, and you fly using normal safety rules. I hope some scale planes, war birds, or what ever type of planes you want to call them, come to the secondary field, so I don’t have to walk a mile to see them.

| Flyin' Around ![]() | I agree that the addition of the 2nd runway is a major plus. Although I enjoy watching 3D, I prefer to fly R/C more in the style of real planes, not many of which are capable of 3D maneuvers. This should be a great event. I'm even going to try the pond! 2.4Ghz Ready! |
