Ya thnk Pat will consider a Light Rail transit system for Triple Tree??
Chris, here is what I think you should do. I believe it will work. Set yourself up right underneath that tree and sleep/snuggle up with that sucker so it gets out of your way this time. The snuggling part will help the tree out even more. If you do that the whole week, I promise you that you wont even come close to hitting that thing ever again. Just show that tree some love and she wont bite you ever again. I'd love to see you get through the whole week without feeding her.

I usually sleep with a 95cc 36" bar chainsaw beside me. . . the tree might not appreciate that. . . .

See you are already wishin bad things on the tree. Although it did hurt you, you need to try and make friends. I know I cant talk to much but you have had a battle with that tree for YEARS. Its time you squash the tradition and return home without a trash bag full of balsa or fiberglass. I have already been praying to the tree god's to help me through this year and they have accepted. You on the other hand need to have a meeting with the tree gods, hence the sleeping and snuggling with the tree.

Actualy I only had ONE altercation with the tree .. everyone else seems to still have problems with it, though.

We worry so much, and poo poo any excuse to hold back doing the things we used to not even think about doing.

Bring the trailer ! ! !

The cost difference is about $1/gallon, and I will burn well over 100 gallons between there and back, so it does make a difference. The biggest difference is that I will be riding solo mission at this point since my friend cant make it back from abroad. So instead of paying $350 in fuel to drive down, I would be paying $700 round trip plus mileage around down there. Coupled with other expenses, it would be a very expensive trip. SO, i figured I would make some changes. I can buy a DA170 for the amount I would spend on the trip with the trailer. On top of that, with the last car I owned (AWD V8 Explorer) and my truck now (Nissan), I see a solid 5 to 6 MPG (if not more difference) towing my 6x10 V-nose trailer. On a 1600 mile round trip, thats an additional 40 gallons or gas or so @ 3.75/gallon. That said, no trailer for me this year.

I was thinking the same thing. I definetly could use the excersize, but I got a cart this year for the 3/4 mile trek down to the 2nd flight line just in case.

We are bringing our own. We figured it was a must to have a golf cart down there so we are going to bring both of them. Might cost extra to take an extra car to tow the golf carts but it will be worth not being so dang tired from walking.

Let's see. . .physically able. . hmmmmm

ever noticed how many out of shape FAT guys are in this hobby, CSpaced??

Not too many Marathoners in this crowd, ya know. . .

Banks, I forgot how far away you live. . YIKES!!!!! Glad I can do the down-back on 25 gallons of gas (plus some driving around after I unhook). I try to limit my RC excursions to 1 tank of gas each direction, two at most if it's a really important Meet, like the Regionals. That gives me about a 450 mile radius of action, unless I go to the Nats. Considering the vehicle I drive ('86 1-ton Dodge van, 360, no OD, high number gears) I think of myself as a P-47 Driver in 1943 . .loaded for bear, but can't go too far to get into a good fight . .

sounds like you need to upgrade. You'd save money with a new truck and better gas mileage.

Yeah, I definetly fall into that crowd. Im down just under 50 pounds in 08 so far... all that walking would probably do me a hell of alot of good. But.. I go to the gym 5 days a week anyway, so a week off relaxing is just this ticket during the Nall!
