I feel your pain. . I have to choose, every week, whether to fill the tank with gas to get back and forth to work, or to buy model stuff instead. . . $60 at least just to commute. . you know how much cool stuff you can buy for $3000/year???

Gas needs to be 30 cents/gallon. Then I could go to the Shootout ! !

Well t is a wonderful day here. The winds are still here thru today. The rest of the week it should be calm. The high for the week is not going to be over 78. If you are planning on camping you might want to throw in a couple blankets.

I have already seen a ton of FG members yesterday. Please look me up and say hello. today we are going to try and start passing out pre registered pilot packs.

Hope every one on the road has a safe trip.

Sorry if I'm out of the loop here guys, but what's the situation with 3-blade props and canister mufflers this year? Are the REQUIRED on all gas airplanes or not? I know this was talked about last year, but I haven't seen it officially announced.

It may be on the forums here somewhere, but a quick search didn't turn anything up.

They are not MANDATORY, but strongly suggested. The main thing is NO PROP RIP. Everything else is. . try to keep it as quiet as possible. There will be lots of diverted exhausts, and plenty of 2 blades, the crew at TT just ask that people do their best to keep it as quiet as possible.

I'll be using pipes/3-blade on my big Imac bird. . canisters and 2-blades on my other two planes, and practicing throttle control.

Thanks Kris. I haven't been able to put cans in my Yak yet... good to know I can still fly. When we were there for the Youth Masters last year, we were not allowed to fly planes without cans and 3-blades- period. They told us that was to be a Triple Tree rule from then on. I never saw it announced though, so I'm glad I asked.

I'll be down there Saturday. I was hoping to make it from Friday till Sunday, but that isn't going to work out. See you all then!

Imagine a warbird on canister exhaust, or using a 3-blade. Far too many warbirds and other non-IMAC style planes at JN to try to make everyone use canisters and 3-blades

Yep, that's what I thought too. They told us it was a new Triple Tree rule though, and would be enforced from then on. Just wanted to be sure.

Guys,

I wont make it this year. I got promoted at work so I need to hang back. Next year though, I will be off probation (from promotion), and I will make it down that way again. Have fun, and enjoy. The first timers will be forever changed.

This is not the official word about props and canisters but this may clear some things up about them at TT. Pat has asked everyone that comes to the Nall to try and keep their planes as quit as possible. He has asked us all to use three blade props and canisters when possible. We understand the size of this meet and that not everyone will have three blade props and canisters. All we are asking right now is that you not rip the prop. Practice Throttle Management! We all know you can fly fast and a loud prop sounding off is cool, but do it at your on field and risk losing it, don't risk losing our field and the Nall.

The rule around here for anytime other than the Nall week is Three Blades and Canisters. That’s why you were not allowed to fly your plane at the Youth Masters weekend. We appreciate our neighbors putting up with us for Nall week.

The Nall was moved to its present location due to a noise problem at the other field. Plus it's just the way Pat is. He wants everyone that comes here to have fun and enjoy their self, but he also shows the same respect to his neighbors.

All of this could change at anytime. We have already had a couple of people ripping props and that just shows no respect for a simple request made by Pat.

Talking about a lack of respect. Believe this or not some knucklehead thought it was cool that he could do a donut on the pavement at the entrance to Triple Tree on his little mini-bike. We all need to watch out for this kind of activity and report it. This was reported to us but they could not describe the person well enough for us to find them.

Thanks everyone for understanding!
