Will there be an area for tents down by the river (tent city)?

Mini bike? 4 Wheeler? Come on the Nall is a place to visit with old freinds and make new ones how are going to do that riding around?. We take the time to walk from one end of the flight line to the other twice a day. Gives us the chance to see all the beautiful planes and to talk to everyone up and down the line. I could not imagine going there and just riding around all the time, like Sleepyc said, it's the NALL!! a time of relaxation and peace doing what we all enjoy the most.

Pat and the crew at TT have made this the event of the year, and I personally think they have done a fantastic job. The new field is IMO another way that they have gone out of their way to make the event better for everyone attending the event. I don't 3D, I fly more scale type flying, but I highly admire their ability and enjoy watching the 3d'ers. And watching the old warbirds come by on a low fly-by at full throttle is awesome also. This hobby has such a wide variety of flyers and planes that it is almost impossable to to cater to everyone, but I think they are really trying.

My big question is where will Biff be announcing from? Half the fun is watching him give everyone a hard time or listening to him interview other pilots.

Hope to see yall in May

Mr Biff will be announcing from EVERYWHERE!

Believe it or not, we had him announcing from inside a flying RV8 at the full scale event...WITH JUST HIS NORMAL RADIO MIC!

Plenty of room for both camping tents and flight line canopies at both ends.

I'm reaaaally thinking about going to the Nall this year. If all goes well and I'm able to take a few days off, I'll show up

I won't be flying anything, but I definitely want to come.

If I camp at Nall are the bathrooms and showers clean? Lets face it, a few thousand guys and a bunch of japalenos... You get what I mean.. If I'm camping for a week and need to use the toilet.. will it be clean. Also is there a enough showers to get one.. Yeah I'm a ninny... But you know you're thinking it too. This will be my first Nall, so I don't know what to expect.

Showers will be just fine. The water is hotter than what you have at your house. They are real nice and clean and private. Like any public showers you'll probably want to wear flip flops or some type of bathroom shoes. But other than that the stalls have a changing area and a shower area all in the same stall. The toilets are clean also and there are your regular porta potties lined up. If you are picky like you say you are, you will probably stear away from them. Those arent for ninnies.

The cleanest showers and toilets I've seen in a public place. Port-a-johns are emptied and cleaned daily if I remember correctly. Everyone pinches in to help keep the place clean and it works.
As for are there enough showers, if you don't hit them at the most popular times there are.
With that said, with the new showers being added at the new flight line there may not be a wait any time of the day.

This will be my first Joe Nall in a WHILE!!! The First Joe Nall at Triple Tree I was there and that was the last Joe Nall I have been to. I am really looking forward to it this year and being able to fly in it. I have a feeling I will be getting no sleep for the whole week!!!!
I cant wait to have a week of nothing but model airplanes and meeting new people and hanging out and having a blast. Cant wait to fire up one of my planes EARLY in the morning!!! We need a count down timer on FG!!!

I was just checking out the FG site and saw this thread and because of what it was about couldn't help but read it from start to finish. Last year I was asked if I wanted to go to the Joe Nall from the flying organization I volunteer with, I had never been. I was asked to go take pictures, write an article and promote my organization etc...
I had read tons of articles in all kinds of magazines and threads on the Nall over the years and knew it was supposed to be a good event to go to and of course I said YES. So.... I got my plane ticket from California, booked my motel and rental car and off I went. I spent 5 days in South Carolina at Tripple Tree and the Joe Nall and while there I took close to 3000 pictures.

When I got home I knew I was supposed to write an article about the event. I thought about it many times while there, in my motel room and even on the airplanes on the way home. I even scribbeled notes a few times into my Lap Top that I later deleted. I must tell you all, I never felt so lost for words to describe something in my life.

Why?

The Joe Nall I believe is what every modeler would would describe as their vision of the perfect huge flying event. From the land itself, to how it is set up. From the people who put it together to those who run it, it just couldn't be better. The folks range from your average guy to QQ and you can't forget the naration of Bob Saddler. I felt like I went to modeling heaven. There were beautiful airplanes of all kinds and although it sounds corny, a whole lotta beautiful people as well. Everybody was smiling all 5 days and it was simply a great experiance!

To those of you who have never been there, don't worry. It will be the best time you ever had at a flying event. You will be able to fly from the most beautiful grass runway you could ever imagine until you are blue in the face, you will be able to eat as much good food as you want until you are as fat as me.

The changes, again don't worry about it. It will work and it will work well and it will be safe. There isn't a group who could put it together better. Remember they are doing this for you, for modeling and they want it to be the best in the world! Nothing is left to chance.

In parting, I envy everyone who is going to the Joe Nall this year because I will not. My one time shot came and I took advantage of it and I am gratful.

What ever you do, if you can go, by all means JUST GO and don't worry!
Everything will be alright!

Mike
