Nope. Unfortunately with the price of gas around $4 a gallon I had to nix the Nall. For 2-3 days there I just couldn't justify it. But, I really will miss watching KrisW fly. Hopefully many guys will have their video cameras rolling when he flies so we can feel like we were actually there when he crashes.

As a matter of fact I was flying on the 13th, right after I got there, and until about 11 with the night-Flying Frenzy. No issues, a few little problems that were easily resolved, and about 25 flights total with all three planes. The only bothersome part was that the forces on the Frenzy were so high I was breaking the covering and occasionaly blew a piece off the plane. Land, re-cover the bad spot, and continue flying. That silly plane pulls such high G's without breaking that the flexing of the airframe gives the covering a good workout. Gotta love the Carbon Fiber rod framework on the fuselage. It's, literally, indestructible.

Except for needing to replace my TX battery pack, it was, literally, a flawless week. Who cares about a little wind and rain. The FG crew hung out and had a great time at the NAll, and that's what really matters. In fact, it was sooo great. . Sukhoi26 (my arch nemesis from the Aerotech G-202 thread) has declared all my problems are because I simply do nothave a wife. . .so he is threatening to find one for me. . . . GOOD LUCK Su-26!!!!!!

I met a lot of FG members for the first time. EVERYONE was great, friendly, no drama, personality clashes, and two guys pitted next to me on one side were FG members, to their left was the Team kamikaze camp, on my right was Chris Hinsons (Extreme Flight) entire crew, next pit down was Mark Trent (jagerbomb) and it was nothing but smiles and fun the entire time. Could not have asked for a better, more positive, reinforcement of the "FG Style" personna of the Flying Giants members, or of the entire Triple Tree crews dedication and positive spirit for the Hobby.

I'll be back again next year.

And Craven. . instead of sniping from the side lines, get your butt down there, kick up your feet in a lawn chair, and relax. If all you want is bad news, then look elsewhere.

The 2008 Joe Nall is in the record books. I have been here 5 times and this one was the best. I didn’t fly as much as in past events but still had a great time. The crew at Triple Tree deserve a big hand for their hospitality and execution of this grand event.

If you have not attended a Joe Nall you need to put it on the calendar. IMHO this is the premier event of the year. I will close with a few pictures of my plane.

I'm glad you didn't crash. I wouldn't wish a crash on anyone.

I'll be there next year for sure.

I can't wait to see that junk you fly up close.

And, I like Bud Light, even though the best beer I ever drank was at Octoberfest in Munich.
