Looks like it will take you about 3.5 to 4 hours. That would be coming down I-24 through Chattanooga.
It is not that far. Just pack your things and head on down. You will have a blast trust me.

I'm planning on being there with my QQ Python/DA85 combo. Are there RV hookups at the field, or do I need to find a nearby campground?

There are electricical connections (I don't know if they'll be accessable to motor homes, given the crowds), but no water/sewer connections.

I don't know of an RV park close by, but you might check on parks around the South end of Lake Lanier. It will be probably at least 10 miles from the field, but anything on the lake should be a pretty nice place to call home for a few days.
