Default A123 batteries and EQ6

Hi Guys

Well i have an EQ 6 with turbo reg' for my new bird and two 2600 A123's for it as well.
Now my question is if i can conect my A123 batteries to my EQ 6 through the turbo reg'?

Thanks,

Yes you can but why would you want to??? Those batteries work perfect unregulated. They stay an average of 6.6v per pack. Sell the reg, and buy something you need.

Yes, but the problem is that the reg is part of the power expander, is there a way maybe to bypass the reg', because now the batteries are going to the reg'.

Thanks,

Adi

There is no way to bypass the regulator.

My bad I was thinking the EQ10 I thought you had a seperate reg. But you can still run them thru it just extreme overkill.

What do you mean by extreme over kill? do you think that the servos wont get the proper voltage and amps because of that?
What is the Voltage that the reg' is droping the batteries to?
Sprry for all these questions, i just want to be sure.

Thanks,

Adi

Ok maybe a slight misuse of words. What I mean is that your are wasting your voltage reg on the EQ6 for batteries that do not need a voltage reg. I believe the voltage reg on your EQ6 takes the volts down to 6 for the servos and provides 5 to your receiver. Really in the long run it should not matter, just know that you can run those batteries without a reg.

On my EQ6 Turbo the regulator is adjustable to the servos 5.5 to 6.5 volts 17.5 amps cont and 35 amps peak. I am going to run a123s to it. I am useing one because i don't have enough channels for my Yak
and rather use one unit instead of a couple Matchboxes and stuff.

You'll be fine with the EQ6. Just turn the reg up so it is not really "regulating" the voltage. The more voltage the regulator has to remove, the more heat it has to disperse. If it isn't "regulating" the voltage down, you really won't be working the regulator that hard.

I'd rather run an EQ6 over matchboxes too!!

Why there is not enough chanels for your Yak?
I am using 3 sevos per Aileron and rudder and 2 per elevator, do you think that i wont be having enough chanels too? how many chanels can i plug to each input?
I have two 2300 A123 for it with 2 Kodiak switches.

If i use my 9 channel receiver with my 9c i don't have enough channels. With the Smart Fly i will and so will you. I am running 2 servos per ail, 2 rudder servos, 2 elev servos, 1 choke servo, 1 throttle servo, smoke system, ign kill. I don't like to y anything in a bigger plane!
