I'm doing the exact same thing on my setup and the packs drain at the same rate. On charging they are never more than 100mah apart. I'm running two 2300mah packs. Fly all weekend and never need to charge up. Its dead simple.

Or would this be suitable?

Try here, just ordered two packs today and will have them in two days. I also found the 1100 packs at walmart and picked up several.

sure-- less amps but in the real world these do the job for ANY size plane - just run out of gas faster ---so some common sense must be used .
Oh sh-- that kills it.
Would you run two of the 1100's with the 8 7955, 9100 rec and split one of the packs to the ignition and receiver. 35% plane

Thanks Tim

nope I would use three packs all wired up as single two cell packs .
In my Cap- I have two packs (it is only a small model - 27% )which I can check- switch connections to balance use . both packs are a common four cell package. the beauty of individual setups is that you can inspect and recharge as desired --VERY quickly.
never more than 10 minutes .

Hey Dan, Tower is sold out and is not going to restock but Horizon has it on backorder.
Tim -- Just my luck ! I'll keep looking then.

Thanks Dick

If I understand correctly you would use 2 2cell packs for the receiver and one 2 cell for the ignition.

No -one pack apiece - this is a small 40 cc powered model and 1100 ma pack is fine
also -in the unlikely event that I forgrt my charger - I could simply swap power supply from ignition to rx -to gain a couple of more flights. The power to ignition is good for at least 8 flights and the rx draws under 200 ma per flight. A refill from 1/2 capacity (50 ma)
- takes well under 10 minutes
One note of caution 4 amps is max recharge power!! the connectors get hot.

I was able to get two flights in today. I went with two 2300 packs, one for the receiver and ignition and the other to the receiver. The flights were mild, trying to break in a new motor. Drain on the batteries were, 606 ma on one and 502 on the other. I have switched to 2.4 in my 10X and will be glad to get comfortable with the system.
