Help! Fromeco Li-ion Charger

Hello Friends,

I was thinking of buying the 5 port Fromeco Li-ion charger. Anyone have one or hear about one that they can give me some info on how they are and the quality of the charger. Also, I understand that this is not a field charger. Anyone know of an excellent field charger. I like to spend my time at the field all day. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and good luck flying.

All of the Fromeco chargers work of of 12 volt supply. It has a switch to charge at either 1/2 amp or 2 amps. If you havent been to there website it is www.fromeco.org and you can get more info there, but it is a great charger and is all I use. For quick chargeing I think most use the Triton charger.

Why would you get the five port unless you're running dual RX's with two batteries each? Will you have more than three batteries to charge at one time? It comes standard with three and I believe additional ports are something like $40 each. I've got three Li-Ions in my airplanes. Two for RX and one for ignition. So, I hook up the Fromeco charger to the plane and stack my Sirius charger through stackable banana plugs (Radio Shack) to my power adapter and charge the TX and the fuel pump batteries, all at one time. Give it like 45 minutes and everything's ready to fly.

John, I think that the extra $40 is cheap for 2 extra ports. I got the 3 port version and wish i got the 5 port one.

I had a 3 port and loved it......got rid of my plane and the guy didn't have a way to charge the Fromeco batteries so I gave him the charger...Then I went out and bought a 5 port......very happy with them.

The only thing that I did different was I bought some extensions and soldered them in. now I can set the charger on the floor of my trailer and not worry about it sliding off of the cowl while I charge..

I totally agree,

$40.00 extra bucks for two more ports is very cheap. I know for sure this will not be my only plane, so I am also thinking future. Thanks

I do agree it's a great price for the number of ports.. However, I've had my Fromeco charger just about as long as they've been out and have never had a need for 5 ports. Another However, everything I've got has been upgraded because what I bought before wasn't enough. So I'll retract my suggestion and tell 3DStyle to go for all the gusto he can get. They're great chargers as well as the service/advice you get from Mike and Kurt at Fromeco!

OK.

I love it and for a thousand reasons.

I have five ports and use four.

Two main batteries.
One ignition Battery
One smoke pack. Its removable so it doesnt alwways live in the plane.

Ones a spare for that rainy day when Murphy comes calling.
