Default Micro Servos in Gas Airplane???

Hi guys. I am new to this site, well in at least with posting. I have been a long time browser and just decided I should finally take the leap and register on this site. Currently i am in the process of building a 35% Carden Edge. With the never ending quest to save weight I was thinking about using a bunch of micro servos instead 2 8611's. This idea just popped into my head and i just decided i should hear your guys input before doing it. I have not done any research into this, but i was thinking about using 6 or 7 micro servos. Does anyone have an experience with this?? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot!

Jensen

Does not sound like a good thing to me. Roll with one 5955 and you will still be lighter than a bunch of micro servos that prolly will not hold up to the strain on their gear train. I can kill a 5245MG on throttle just by stressing it a little. The POT in that servois not the greatest.

Why not just run one 5955 or the new 8711? Thats what I did in a 35% I built and it had more than enough rudder authority.

My buddy Paul Papandreas has been using hi-tech 55s for years in fact he ganged 27 micros per aileron on his 3.3 yak and they worked nicely. I would give it a try. He also used paper clips for push rods in the attempt to save weight, much lighter than titanium and cheaper too .
