Default how to fix antenna???

My tx antenna just pulled out today and since all it is a is a hollow tube of metal whats the mechanism that keeps it on??? How can I fix it??? Can I just solder it on? its a futaba radio.

They Just screw on, it's threaded at the base. Theres usually a screw on the inside that the antenna attaches to, if that fell off you can just pull the back cover off and easily see whats wrong. Not sure it thats what your getting at or if the antenna puled apart in the middle. If it pulled apart just buy a new one, it's not worth the $5 to try and fix it, if the soulder joint were to fail when your flying that could be bad news.

I learned the hard way to pull your antenna out one segment at a time. Grabbing the disk thing at the tip and yanking eventually leads to a busted antenna.

You have 2 choices

1) open your tool box....aka...wallet and spend the $5-$10 to order a new one guarnteed to work

2) attempt to fix said antenna and hope that it doesn't fail while you fly and you put in your plane

Yep, R&R (remove and replace) is the ticket here and unless you happen to be running a 9Z, it's a piece of cake to do it yourself.
