Default 9303 programming question

Here's what I'm trying to do. I have 4 ail servos, 2 on each wing, and I want to mix them in the rec w/o a matchbox. I have a programmed mix set to #ail-aux2. That's works fine. The problem is that the trim switch does not move the aux 2 channel, only the #ail channel(aux 1). Any hints?

Instead of using a mix use the wing type parameters in system mode described on page a-14 of the manual. This allows you to select a "mate" channel for each function and the trim then propagates to the mate.

It could not be easier.

Dosen;t work. If I set it to flaperon, it dosen;t allow you to select a mate for flap and aileron. If you select normal on wing type, you can only select flap or aux 3. You have 3 channel selections for 4 servos. So what's the best way to program 4 aileron servos on the 9303 and have trim mixing on each channel?

Then don't set it to flaperon. I just use two channels and use a Y cable on each wing.

Which program mix are you running? If you are running one of the upper mixes (i.e. mixes 5 and 6) the trim should be common on the mixed channels. If you use the lower program mixes (mixes 1-4), the trim will be independent on both channels as you are describing.

Ill try mix 5 and let you know. A y-cable won't work as I am using 8711's w/o a matchbox.

Unless some change has been made -- the "mixes" on the 9303 do not have inc trim
The dedicated setup of "aileron type" and "elev type" DO inc trim In either of these -- the display then shows ele1 ,ele 2 ---ail 1 , ail 2

It should still work fine, just get the linkage geometry correct. Ailerons are not like rudder, normally they are fairly far apart and a slight misalignment really does no harm, just get it as close as you can mechanically.

I have used this on probably 30 airplanes, never had the slightest problem.

I asked Danny at Horizon Hobby how to program 4 servos to work as Ailerons, and flaps when the switch was used. Maybe this will help.

"I would recommend going to the device select function, inhibit 2 aux channels to use for dual channels for aileron and flap. Keep aux 1 set to SYS as it comes set default. Then go to the wing type function and activate dual aileron on the aux channel that you would like to use and activate dual flap on the aux channel that you would like to use. Don't use the flaperon function. You can use the flap system function to set up the operation of the flaps, and use the built in aileron to flap mix to set up the flaps to work as ailerons. "
