Was on Hobby shop today, JR's nice dual bolt arms fit very nice on Hitec's especially once tightened down on old junk Hitec. Didnt hurt the threads at all, and we torqued it! Nice nice arms.. can I use them on my Hitecs? I really like them. Thanks.

I understand, but put one together and try it, and post your thoughts. The JR horns are missing some spline(s) because of the gap used to relieve the hub when it tightens..

I used to think that JR and Hitec were the same- had JR arms on a couple of big Hitec servos on the rudder of a 40% Extra. They worked for a little while then let loose on a downline- the tail was whipping back and forth so much I was afraid it might tear off. Don't use them- get the correct arms. Dave |

Just like cross-threading a bolt.... Seems tight, right up to the point where it fails...

Get the swb arms for hitec, they are like the JR arms with set screws and they rock. I personally don't even think about using a different servo arm on even cheap planes, why risking a plane over a servo arm. See we have enough unpredictable failures that may cost us dearly why adding more risk to it on something we know may cause problem. Let's just deal with the unknowns and hoping that those will be knowns in future!

I know this is an old thread, but...I use both Hitec servos on some airplanes and JR on others, and I am a firm believer that you shouldn't use the wrong arms. I am so particular about it, when I buy new arms, I put tape around them and label the type of arm. I know what you are saying, They Fit! But don't try it! Hope you didn't.
