Question JR X9303 2.4 Trainer Button

The Trainer Button on the JR X9303 2.4 transmitter cycles the timer. The instructions in the manual indicate the lower left hand system button turns the timer on and off. When you have a student pilot on a buddy box each time you depress the trainer button the timer state changes making the timer worthless. Evidently this is a transmitter programming error. I have sent 2 e-mails and called Horizon Service twice with no replies or call back response.

Does anyone out there have a fix for this problem or a method to get Horizon to respond to service calls?

There should be a program fix for this in the manual.

I believe you have to establish the master radio as the master radio in system parameters. Simply plugging the trainer cord in will work, but there are other programming features to make the trainer system more useful.

I just went in and played around with mine a bit. I can't find any way to compensate for this issue in the software. If you have enough time when actuating the trainer switch, if you hit it twice the time will continue to run while it's activated and when you release the trainer switch.

I didn't have it setup with another tx so this might not work with the trainer mode activated and connected to another rx.

A member had this issue this past weekend. I would use Futaba for training. Worlds easier IMO.

Trainer button does not operate timer once the dsc cord is plugged in and that button is the worst thing I have used.
The timer can still be started via the screen buttons.
Try holding it down for 10 min at a time...there seems no way to reprogram it to a lever.
Whoever designed it needs to be made to train someone for 5 flights x 10 min and see how his finger feels.
I know the 9303 2.4 is not top of the line but this is a joke.
JRs programming totally sucks.

Panzlflyer,

Thanks for the trainer cord info, my oversite. I use the button for other functions like bomb drop and ZDZ electric starter switch.
