if i had the cash i would love to use the new futaba BL super torque servos, just too pricey at the moment. I prefer 8711s, but i now run 7955 from a cost basis. they are nice, but not as precise

oh man, did you just open a can of worms. I can see it now, it will become a huge servo war. The best choice is the one that provides enough torgue and will do the job based on what you can afford. That being said...DO NOT use servos that do not have enough power for a 40% plane. Many guys will say JR 8711's, many will say Hitec and many will swear by Futaba....it is really up to you. Best to ask what guys have in their 40% planes, or attend a large scale event and ask the pilots!. I am in the process of completeing a 40% Yak 54 and I plan to use 8711HV's all around, overkill on some parts of the plane, perhaps, however I have a good friend of mine that has been using them for a while now and has had no issues and I trust his judgement moreso than anybody elses. I have used 8711's in the past and have never had an issue. So the choice is yours!

My current favorites are the Futaba 9156 and 9157. Using both on my 43% Edge and they are working very well.

The choice is up to you, I choose to use Hitec 7950's in my 42% Dalton because they can be used unregulated and are programmable.

My servo is better than your servo. Just kidding. I like Hitec, but all three brands have great servos. Pick what you want and love it!

I agree with Style. I'm a JR guy but on my last plane, I used 8711's except I put some 9157's on the rudder of my 40%er, just to try them out. I love how smooth they operate. Even mixed and matched, they all work.

I like Hitecs and JR's. Then again whoever made the servo so long as they work well I could really careless. The Seiko servo is still a hoss of a servo on the rudder.
