Plus Foam/rubber mounted same thing I just don't think a receiver should be that weak.
Like I said, I've never had an issue. Mounted on 1/2" foam unlike your setup. Waaaaay too much vibration going to the receiver for my likings.

Honestly, think of how bad the vertical fin on our airplanes shake with ANY engine. Imagine that going to your receiver. Or any electronics for that matter. I'll continue mounting my equipment on foam, and continue to fly without issues.

I believe Futaba has had issues as well. Like I said above, I would not mount ANY receiver (Hitec, Futaba, Airtronics, JR, Spektrum, ANY), without foam below it. I flew Futaba several years ago, and did the same as I do with my JR/Spektrum stuff. Just had other problems and dislikes about Futaba, which is why I switched to JR/Spektrum. Haven't had a single issue with ANY of my JR/Spektrum equipment.

Neither company will have 100% of their receivers work perfect. Both companies have ones that have issues every now and again. Just part of being mass produced.

Well I physically can't mount foam underneath the receiver unless someone has found a way to do so, but I'm going to try just some Velcro instead of that stuff smart fly supplies because that stuff is pretty tough stuff to mount to.

Havent had any problems with any of my spektrum antenna, but I believe the only thing more fragile was my ex wifes state of mind.

I saw there is a technical service bulletin on Horizon Hobby for the AR7100 regarding antenna detaching on the receiver board. This could be similar i suppose.

My AR7000 is already with HH for repairs. i experienced glitching in the air but was able to land safely with the glitching going on. In my case the LED on the receiver was flickering randomly. This was on an electric model with no vibrations going into the airframe. Lets see what HH says.

I think it's time to inspect my antennas.

Well none the less my antennas haven't been falling out on anything but the 7000 series receivers, lol I don't know who was on the assembly line for mine but they obviously wanted to screw me over! For anyone who doesn't really know what the smart fly does the bus load on a AR7000 isn't enough to get the max voltage to your servos heres a video I'm running 5 7955 and one 925mg for the throttle this video is from TBM and I think the AR9000 might have a high enough bus load of like 75amps or something which should be enough but I think the the 7000 is only 35amps I could be totally wrong but this is what I've heard.

if your really worried about power issues. this is your best option.
i talked to a tech at horizon a few weeks ago and they said a ar7000 can handle all 8711's. it has a 50amp buss.

I have a AR7000 myself, and have had 0 issues, with plenty of flights on it.

I don't use any type of power expander or anything. Waste of weight and money to me. But thats just my .02

Seth
You use 1/2" foam on receivers for your electric planes too?

My 48" Extreme Flight Extra 300 EXP is the largest airplane I will not use foam on my receivers. It still has the soft velcro stuff on it. ANY electric/glow/gas airplane larger than that, I mount with 1/2" foam.

Exactly. If you're concerned about power issues, why not get a receiver like the one in the link above? Then theres no need for anything extra besides the receiver itself.
