Try Troy Built Models for Hitec servo prices as low as can be plus some very economical alternatives.

Thanks for all the response guys. It looks like I will likely end up going for the 7955's. I appreciate all the input.

HITEC 7955' s or 7985's, either one's work GREAT! I'm using a mix of both on my cap. Good luck!

And andrew beats the SNOT out of his planes.....

Oh, and I'd have to second that on 7955's. Great servo. I will say, however, that 8711's from JR are also good and they have great service. I've seen guys i fly with send in 10+ servos for service after 2 seasons of flying on them and get free gears, cases etc. Can't beat that with a stick

Good point. At least with the Hitec's it's a one time setup job. That's the reason I run hitec servos in everything i own

Check out Spektrum 6030 servos - high torque, metal gears, fast - $85 from Horizon Hobby. Just received five and they look really good. Hanger Nine aluminum arms fit just like on JR 8611a servos.

Thanks gridley. I hadn't seen those yet. They look like a prime candidate. Anyone have any experience with them in giant scale applications?

You didnt mention what voltage you plan to run. I'm using unregulated lipos for awesome speed and power out of the 7955s. You could also go for one 7950 on the rudder this way, saving the weight (and price) of a servo and the tray. Cheaper, lighter, and mo' bettah. Thor.
