Congratulations Rob on your forthcoming sproglet. Do you know what make it wil be - girl or boy and when is the due date?

Your foam delta is most interesting and I bet it's quick?

You must have been typing your previous post just before I hit the go button on mine. I had a good look at the link and photos of your CNC machine and I most say that I am very impressed. Good job.

I wish you the best of luck with your business. Here is a link to mine: www.mdltd.org

Please bear in mind that my web site is a work in progress and my eldest son who lives in Florida will be updating it very soon.

I will keep you posted as to which aerofoil software I choose and how I get on with it.

Regards all,

Dave

Thanks! The goober is a girl, and is due sept.25th. your website looks good, A buddy of mine and I designed our clubs website, I now manage it also. The demon is fast but not so fast that you have to have 20-20 vision to fly it. It also is a great fun fly plane with basic aerobatic abilities.

I have never printed from the Profili.... I was more interested in the embedded XFOIL it has.....

I was thinking about a maybe 72" span EDF of this......

Avenger-133.jpg

SInce I lofted much of it and did a lot of the design... for the most part, I would scale down the model by a factor of 1/10 and cnc cut molds....

At 72" span you are going to need a fairly big (powerful) fan - Go for it!

He he he he... I know exactly what they are like.... I lofted the wings and tails and the initial lofting for the fuselage and inlet...

but the sections are not suitable for models in the Rn range below 100,000

I would prolly use a Selig section or an mh section

Well, I went to dig out my 1/16" balsa today and to my misfortune I found that I didn't have any!! ok, well I solved that problem by placing an order with rcfoam. I saw the selection of wood up at joe-nall and was impressed so I figured I'd try it out. So it is all on it's way, the buid may just be pushed back a few days till i can get it here. oops.

rcpilot82 - First off, congrats on the soon to be new family member , also very nice work on the homemade CNC and very cool looking foamy racer too... Do you take on outside jobs for the CNC or are you using it strictly for making your kits? One more thing rcpilot82, when you get some of the cutting done, please share some pics with us. You know how machine shop guys like to check out others work.

esc - Striker it is then ... are you going to start a new thread for it so it's dedicated to just your build?

Mithrandir - Very cool looking stealth drone... I say go for it.

Dean

OK, we'll leave this thread open for progress reports on my 3-D plane. Incidentally it does not have a name, cuttently it is just called EXPL001, would anyone care to give it one?

We can have a vote for the most popular name.

The question is do I post the revised Striker in the CAD/CNC section or do I post it in the scratch build section?

I have attached a taster PDF generated from AutoCAD 2010. Please forgive the incorrect colours - I was too lazy to try to correct them and as it is only a rough outline I did not think it warranted the effort.

What do you think of this:

Dave

esc - I think the Striker is looking good so far . I would think the scratch build section would be a good place to do the build thread, it's your call, either would do.... just make sure to tell us where.
