Exactly!!!! The impact felt like you took a driveway curb at about 20 mph. Very impressed with the way it absorbed the impact. | ||||||||||||||||||

Just about half the people on the road after 11 are Drunk. Well maybe not that many but it is pretty close. Just because someone isnt swerving all over the place does not mean that they have not thrown down a couple. I have first hand experience ![]() Not saying that she was drunk though....but you never know.... |

Geesh, I cant believe the impact wasnt harder than you describe seeing that both A-arms broke free of the mounts on the wheel assembly! Glad to hear everyone is ok!

Thats what they are made to do. They start chunking parts to soften the impact. Its amazing the things these newer vehicles can do. A friend of mine in a new Tahoe t-boned a car at about 65 mph.(the car pulled out right in front of him). It killed the driver of the car but my buddy unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the door and walked away without a scratch.

Glad yall are OK! I almost had a simmilar experience the other day. I was driving down the street when some moron pulls out right in front of me. He just completely ran the light and turned. So here I am, going 40mph in a 7,000 pound truck, and a little jeep just pulled out 20 feet in front of me. I can't go right or left to try and miss him. I stood on the brakes, and hit my air horn. The air horn was loud enough to draw his attention away from his cell phone, and back to what he was doing.... Needless to say, I didn't hit him, but it was WAAAYY too close for comfort.

Well on lunch I heard back from the insurance inspector, looks like his recommendation is going to be to total the Envoy. Hopefully in a day or two I should hear back from the Total Loss coordinator dude and see what they are offering to give me for it. Are there any insurance guys out there that could tell me how they come up with a figure? Is it NADA? KBB? Their own calculation book? |
