Myself, the wife and the girls had an interesting Saturday night. We went out to my parents' house on Friday (about an hour and a half away from home). Coming back on Saturday night at about 11:30pm and about 2 miles from home a gal decided that she wanted to change lanes without looking. I think it is going to be totaled but we'll see. Everyone involved in both cars were alright. There wasn't really an impact, it was more of a shove. I've had worse shoves from driveways. The Envoy definitely took the collision for us. The girls cried for about 5 seconds when my wife screamed as the car came in on her side but then they fell right back asleep. It was ironic because I was about 5 seconds from calling my mom to tell her that we made it home safe. She was worried about us driving home so late at night. So everyone be safe and stay a defensive driver until you get all the way home.

Hppefully, The police report clearly indicates that the other driver was at fault and she has good insurance. They say 90% of all automobile accidents happen within 5 miles from home.

If you are ever driving and come upon an 18 wheeler that is pulling another 18 wheeler backwards, wait until the wife is sleeping and pull up right behind it so the grill of the 18 wheeler is 4 or 5 foot from the front of your car, then scream "oh ****". Have a camera ready because the expression on the wife's face is priceless. Ironically she can't scream the lungs don't work for a few seconds from the shock. I believe that is the first time I ever heard my wife cuss..

She apologized multiple times to me (some were in front of the police officer) that she was so sorry and that she didn't see me. She was from STL and probably unfamiliar with the area. She was probably 21-22 years old. Felt really bad because of the girls. It was fairly low speed. We were probably going 35 mph at the time and she was going about 10.

Glad you guys are alright Dave. My sister-in-law got T-boned in December. Her Yukon XL did a complete endo and landed facing the other direction. The woman that hit her blew the stop sign and the cross traffic didn't have to stop. My nephew was with her and he's OK, but she has some spine damage, but luckily everyone walked away. Someone was looking out for you guys. Jay |

That is one of the good things about cars these days, they are made like INDY Car chassis, in the event of a crash they disenigrate,,, which takes the impact for you, it looks like it is worse than what is was,,
