Help! Xbox Live connection with wireless router - HELP!

Oh man, am I in a jam! I've got the Xbox 360 running Halo 3, but want to get on Xbox Live using the Xbox wireless adaptor. The wireless adaptor lists out the available wireless networks, and naturally, chooses mine as the one with the strongest signal. I put in the SSID and WEP key info on the setting page and leave everything else automatic, but this stinken console still doesn't link up to my wireless network.

My network is Verizon Fios with an Actiontec MI424WR router. I'm running two laptops with wireless cards in the house with no problems. My Wii console wireless card links right up with no problems.

I've asked this same question of Xbox support, and I get the same lame items to check such as "Is the wireless adaptor plugged into the back of the Xbox console?"
Well, DUH!

I'm suspecting that my router is not Microsoft compatible. My next guess is to contact Verizon and ask them, since I'm probably not the first one in history trying to run Xbox Live on their routers.

I'm not a tech nerd, but I can program my 9C and set up my planes. Anything much beyond plug-n-play and I'm lost.

Anyone have this same issue with their Xbox?

Has it EVER worked? I'm guessing that maybe the XBox Live adapter might be bad. Ours works no problem without port forwarding...

I was going to hook it up hard wired tonight to see if it works that way. If so, then it's either a reception problem or a bad wireless adaptor.

Never worked. The LED on the back of the wireless adaptor is red, so I know it is hooked up and has power. It just can't link up with my wireless network so the LED turns green. It fails the test at the second line.

Nope. I'm not going to change any router settings until I talk with my ISP. I'm sure I won't be the first one in history hooking up Xbox Live to their router.
