Just got an update from our very own Tony Russo (owner of Dalton Aviation). Tony debuted his new 35% Extra 260. After finishing the plane, he got 12 flights and headed to the JR Challenge in Punta Gorda, Fla. Tony threw down the smack and got second in intermediate and FIRST in freestyle! Tony isn't one to brag,so I thought I'd give him some props. We're mighty glad to have him as a mod. Great guy, great airplanes and an awesome pilot as well. Good going bro, that was a pretty tough field of pilots. Coming in second in sequences and first in freestyle with a new airplane is impressive. Flying a 35% plane in a 40% world is showing the world you can fly and do well with a smaller plane. Winning freestyle with a new airplane and his first freestyle EVER pretty much says it all! I spoke with Tony a short while ago and here are some of his thoughts about the plane; "It's a sweet bird. Does some stuff even better than the big one. I was worried about wind. I thought if it was calm I'd do well.15-20 mph cross wind every day! The plane handled it well. Just locked in. I'm very excited about it. If you're an unlimited guy,the bigger plane might be your best bet. Judges are still 40% friendly, but if you're an all out 3D guy or just like a bit smaller plane, this is the shizznit." I talked Tony into doing a bit of coverage on his shop and what Dalton is up to. Being as he usually gets over 10,000 hits on a build thread, I guess you'd like to see it huh? Tony is working on a production run of kits for his Big 260 and the new 35%. If you are interested, get on the list as these things go quickly. We have banners of Dalton Aviation (thanks media master SleepyC!!) just click on the banner and check Dalton Aviation out! I always preach support for those companies who support the hobby. Tony is a proud sponsor of the Flying Giants, the Don Lowe Masters and the Tucson Shootout. Super fella with top shelf line of airplanes. Thanks for all you do Tony!! Again, congrats for doing so well at the Challenge. You made the Flying Giants PROUD!!! Biffmeister |

Thanks everyone. Just to clarify I only won the freestyle round for my class. I think for all five of us, none of us had ever done a 4 minute free. It was alot of fun and I deffinitly got the bug and will start working on it more. Mike Elder threw down a very good freestyle with the Aerotech 300 as did Wayne Geffon flying my 42% 260. I gotta thank Barry Finck for calling for me all week. Barrys a super guy and is always willing to help someone out. And a big thanks to my sponsors me, myself, and I. I couldnt have done it without you.
