WELL TODAY WAS A CRAPPY DAY I GOT WOKE TO MY NABOR BEATING ON OUR DOOR TO TELL ME THAT MY DODGE HAD BEEN BROKEN INTO THEY SMASHED MY WINDOW AND STOLE MY 500.00 GPS
POLICE REPORTS AND INSURANCE COMPANY LATER THERE COMING OUT TO MY HOME TOMARROW TO REPLACE THE GLASS
THE REAL KICKER IS THEY DIDENT EVEN TAKE THE DAM CHORD TO POWER UP THE UNIT SO IT WONT EVEN WORK
IVE HAD THIS UNIT FOR 3 YEARS AND I HAVENT EVER SEEN ANOTHER ONE AROUND SO IMAGIN HOW I WILL REACT AT A STOP LIGHT WHEN I SEE IT IN A WINDOW OF A CAR NEXT TO ME IT HAS A 7" DISPLAY AND IT WAS DIS-CONTINUED FROM THE MANUFACTER,
IT HAD TO BE KIDS JUST GOS TO SHOW IF THE PARENTS WOULD SPANK THEM THEY WOULDENT ACT LIKE THIS TODAY,EVEN THE COP SAID THAT ! GO FIGURE
WHEN I WAS A KID IF I EVEN ACTED WRONG AND THE FOLKS FOUND OUT I WOULD BE PICKING MY OWN SWITCH AND THAT WAS ENOUGH THE FIRST TIME I DID IT , TO NOT WANT TO DO IT AGAIN ..

I'm sorry to hear about your gps and car.

But an "adult" can smash a window and steal from you the same way a "kid" can. Even though it probably was some young punk that gives the good kids a bad name. ;]

That happened to me. Recently my work van was broken into. They stole:
IPOD
IPOD Charger
Phone Charger

They left the earphones for the Ipod and my expensive tools. Go figure. I was thinking of hiding myself in a big sceen TV box with my shotgun and an electric tazer. Setup one of those hunting cameras in a few spots to catch the bastards who try to break in.

Me too... But they didnt take anything, because I dont keep anything in my car. My neighbor (arson investigator) is always packing concealed. He happened to hear my alarm, as did I. When I walked downstairs I got a good descrip on the car. I heard my neighbors F350 start up, and he went in full pursuit of these guys with strobe lights, and the flip down mirror light with siren like startsky and hutch. His personal vehicle is a big ass red F350 with a whole bunch of FD radios, and such. I live in the land of cops and firemen so these A holes were stupid to begin with to even come in this neighbor hood. My neighbor phoned the sheriffs dispatch directly , and let them know a descrip of the car. He cut off pursuit, because a huge F350 aint no match for a stolen honda accord. Well to make a long story short, as the deputy is here talking to me, I hear a radio call for a pursuit for the car in question. The deputy took off. He came back about 40 minutes later to retrieve my neighbor for + ID on the suspects, and he relayed that they rolled the car in the dairys about 10 miles from my house. One was ejected and landed inside one of the cattle pens. He was uninjured. So long story short. 2 19 year old males stole a car, went on a theft cruise, managed to get 3 strikes in one night as my damage was > 400 bucks, so they are going to jail for a while. Finally a good guy victory over this human trash plague.

sucks... makes y awonder where they get the ideas... i bet some kid around the corner is .. wooo man we did it... and thinking its all cool, tell someone jacks there up, and then they en realize what they got them selfs into.. dont those gps units have locators in them??

My brother's car was broken into. They stole an Ipod, adapter, an airsoft gun and altoids. Definitely kids haha. Several other breakins occured in the neighborhood and they finally caught up with the kids. One was 15 the other was 17. All they got was a little community service.

Since they were minors they pretty much got off free! Thats unfortunate. Steal $100s worth of stuff from multiple residences and all they risk is having to (possibly) return it and do some cleaning in the park.

I agree with SB, it's not always kids. Last week some jacka$$ stole one of my license plates... and last month, someone ran into my car in the parking lot.(just paint damage though) I have no idea who did it either time...

As a cop who investigate hit and run crash, its a sad world we live in where people take from other people just for the fun of it or for drug money. It also ashame when somone hits your car, they wont even stay long enough to leave the proper info. But after looking at 73 hit and runs for the month of February, you just shake your head. Be very carefull with the video cameras and guns. I would hate to see you get sued and loose everything, even though you were the victim.
