| Fellow Giants, today has been the best Sunday of my life!!! I was sitting in my basement by the fireplace enthrawled in a good book, all of a sudden I heard this dull roar outside, I thought it was the wind cause its been really windy lately. I thought it strange because it kept increasing in intensity, so I finally clued in that it must be a jet of some sort. Now I live near the local airport and my house is situated in the landing pattern, so I step outside and a Canadian Forces F-18 flys right by me!!!!, I mean so close I could see the pilots, he was on approach to land!!! So back in the house I run, grab the camera, RACE to the airport and pull over on the highway to see this BEAUTIFUL fighter practice some approaches, he did a total of three or four. After his last approach, he wags his wings in a wave, then hits the afterburner, pulls vertical into the clouds, and heads home!! I couldn't believe it, I was totally mesmerized by this......what a show of power, the roar from those engines is deafining!!!! BEST SUNDAY EVER!!! thanks for understanding I have included some pics

Crazy Extra. I 've been inflicted with a severe disease since the day I opened my eyes. It's called plane crazy disease. To this day if a jet or any plane flys over I just have to go outside to see what it is. I live south of a military airbase. They fly F5's, Mirages and soon to arrive the F16's. Every once in a while they throw in a low quick pass over the city to let everyone know all well. 52 years later I'm still unable to keep going in a conversation if someone flys over. I just have to go and see who or what it is. Kiwi |

At the Blue Angels homecoming air show last year The F-18 Super Hornet demo pilot did a wall (I think they called it a Cobra) followed by a full 'burner vertical climb. You could feel the thing shudder when he hit that wall. It was the most awsome thing I've ever seen at an airshow (besides the late Jimmy Franklins jet Waco and the Masters of Disaster) They did fly a F-22 but they just did some fly-bys. Brian |

Here's a couple of pics from the 05' Rose Bowl. This was one of the greatest fly bys I've ever witnessed!!!! The B-2 just looks so MEAN when its approaching.
