Grits are ground Hominy. (Corn) The guts have been correctly identified already. Love my grits !! But being born and raised in GA (true south) this is to be expected. I also love my Boiled Peanuts. I mention boiled peanuts here in KY and they look at me like I have three heads !! The same with grits come to think of it. Also it is common practice to eat Hot Peppers/Sauce for breakfast. |

Quite common to eat steak, eggs and chips (french fries) for any meal over here. best served with cold beer (also at any meal) and Tobasco sauce (red pepper sauce). I have a great recipe I wanna try for a six legged chicken that we breed over here............................. I just can't catch one. Also we believe that Bourbon is so much more than a breakfast food. |

What do the french call them? Surrender strips, of course! LOL! Zoomer, Grits! Oh YEAH!! Boiled peanuts? My Dad is from Statesboro, Ga....... I think I've had some of those a few bazillion times! Even us Texas folks know a delicacy when we hear one!! Grated carrots w/ raisens sprinkled with sugar? Yup. Sliced tomato with mayo sandwiches? (Gotta eat those out in the garden!) Salt your watermelon? Pass the shaker! Iron Sandwiches? (Learned to eat those at Texas A&M.......Two slices of bread, light coating of Miracle Whip on both pieces, slice of American cheese, put 'em together and wrap in tin foil,Set your household iron on "high" and set down on top of wrapped sandwich, turn over after three minutes and place iron back on other side for another minute...... Bon Appetite, ya'll!! (Don't forget a Jalapeņo or two!) WT | ||||||||||||||||||

I am a Scrapple fan and a Grits fan as well as Cream of Wheat, Oat Meal etc.. and I'm not even from the south!! I'm from Maryland. But I love deer jerky, fresh home made Scrapple, (I've seen how its made) And I still eat it LOL. Venison (Deer), Oysters cooked and used to eat them raw, Scallops cooked and used to eat them raw, Clams fried or steamed, Good 'ole Maryland Blue Crab as well as Southern Maryland Crab Cakes, Hush Puppies, and also BBQ loaf which I can find anywhere in Florida. But it is basically ham that is marinated in BBQ sauce and sliced paper thin and is great on sandwiches, and of course Spam sandwiches with Miracle Whip and Beef Steak Tomatoes!!!!!!!!! That's my story and I'm stickin to it! Shawn
