Watch for specials, the local Best Buy was doing $40 upgrades to Win 7 for a while.

Using bootcamp or parallels?

I've found Windows 7 in parallels slower than XP, but Windows 7 is generally faster on any other hardware. I've not tried Win 7 in bootcamp yet as it doesn't meet my needs.

Been running this for about 9-10 months now, both 64-bit and 32-bit. Far warning g4.5 expansions will not work on 64-bit, these was on the RC version that Microsoft released for testing.

ROFL......I see two glaring errors here, 64 bit, games do not usually play well with, and Release Candidate, I'm not surprised it didn't play well.

Alright here it goes laying it out in simple terms, everything excluding gaming, and a few other things Mac will justify your needs probably the best with all the built in software right off the get go. For gaming if you want a POS that's overpriced this is only for gaming your regular average day Mac will run Realflight G4 and up fine but then you would want a pc. The overall performance in windows 7 is really much better than windows vista obviously and its more like a service pack then a new OS. Windows XP is still faster in boot up compared to Windows 7. There is still controversy going on weather the new snow leopard is better etc but for those mac commercials I'd rather buy $40 for a new operating system than $1400 for a new computer.
