Default FG Handy Man Help Thread!

So guys, being as we are a very diverse community, how about we use this thread to post your occupation and areas of expertise? I have been helped a TREMENDOUS amount by Flying Giants members who have generously given me assistance. Not only was the task at hand very doable after some tech support, IT SAVED ME A TON OF MONEY!!!

Whatever your trade or area of expertise, post it! Heck I think this will be a great service to all of us! Almost all modelers like doing projects around the house. Having a support thread of friends willing to give you some advice should be AWESOME!!!

Thanks to all you guys who make the Flying Giants what it is; a world wide community of friends!

I'll start. I have almost 25 years of HVAC (heating/cooling/refrigeration/steam/ultra low temp/cascade systems/amonia) experience. Now I do tech support for packaging machinery. PLC, relay logic, controls work. Problems with your heat/air? I'd be glad to help!

Ok Buffamundous,

I am a Licensed building contractor in the State of Michigan.

My trade is as a finish carpenter/cabinet maker, but I do 99% of my own electrical and plumbing as it pertains to residential renovations.

So if it has to do with installing your new kitchen or hanging a door, let me know, I will try to have the answers.

I've been doing commercial overhead doors for over 12 years now! Sectional, high speed, rolling steel (some massive!) rolling fire doors, sliding fire doors, and those damn mall gates!!

If any one needs door work done in the NW Ohio area, give me a call. I may be able to help.

Maintenance Technician. Hobart Bro's approx. 1 year now..................... Seems like an easy enough job, but it does get challenging at times!!!

Worked mostly factory jobs since I grad. HS. Went to college for a 2 year degree in Electronics. I have an Associates Degree in the Applied Science of Electrical Engineering Technology. Say that 5 times fast!!!

I did a 2 year stint in the RC hobby as sales, shipper, etc for RadicalRC. Fun job, but not rewarding enough for me.........
