Calling that "poke at fun" not Cirkus style, well, does anybody remember the thread where the "main Cirkus dudes" were holding signs calling each other "gay"? It was all in fun, no "bash" intended. "Shakerworld"???? You have to admit, it does have a ring to it

P.S. It's funny how DOD had a link to the Cirkus when they first started. After they got big you couldn't even mention DOD or the name Joe Hunt on the forum...Cirkus Style??????? Last edited by strulag; 01-02-2006 at 08:19 AM. | |||||||||||||||

I have to somewhat agree with what is being said here. Flying Giants doesn't have the same ring to it, Flying Cirkus was really bad ass. I just had a bunch of Flying Cirkus graphics made up for some of my planes, and I will still run them. I am not bad mouthing anyone here, cause it is the same crew and the site looks great. I too would really like to hear the whole story about what happened, and why this was "the only option". What is going to happen to Cirkus Style Fly In's? I understand if for some reason someone along the line got in trouble for something and maybe the Cirkus didn't want it traced back to them, but I would really like to know what really happened, cause so far it has been very hush hush...

Hey Guys I'll jump into this one...much better than the strange stuff being said yesterday. The past few years I have been part of two organizations that experienced major events that eventually caused their demise... I see some of the same "vibes" going on here...everyone sees the big white elephant in the room but no one talks about it... we live in a different world today...information cannot be controlled the way it could even 10 yrs ago. Before, you could make 180 degree changes and pull it off. Now, we are one key stroke away from different perspectives, etc. I do not personally know the individuals Biff, Mad Max, and others. What I see is a few guys that want very badly to make something work...something has happened to the FC and the lack of honesty and candor is and will cause a "vibe" that you folks don't want. Its none of my business what happened but obviously something did...you may be able to pull it off (the new deal) but you had something really cool with the FC (i'm talking about the name, vibe, and everything that contributes to success and more importantly, momentum). I could say more but my fingers are getting lazy...and still only halfway into my first cup of coffee. My (un-solicited) advice would be: deal with the big white elephant in the middle of the room and let the chips fall where they may) Ps. all you who would be offended by the use of the term "gay" have a sense of humor...it makes life MUCH more enjoyable and others may actually want to be around you! dorado |

not that i was here much, but from what i saw before...it would have been much better if the same info, memberlist, forums, vids, pics, etc were kept and only the layout/title was changed. just my opinion.

Hey Guys, "cirkus style" was a reflection of the style of forum management that I created long ago. It is an attitude that far transcends the name of a website. It is a vibe. Wondering if it continue? A short answer to that question is this: I coined the phrase "cirkus style", and I'm not going anywhere. You guys all know me well, you've seen my dedication to this hobby, and the work I have done to bring all of this to you. My am 100% dedicated to this new venture, and it is my sincere promise to each and every one of you to do the best for our community. I fully understand that there is a desire to know more about what happened, but all I ask for the time being is that you please respect my silence on the matter. Thanks guys. MD

Re:MadMax---AMEN. I think we should all respect the man's wishes to remain silent about the personal reasons for the change, MadMax is the one who brought us all the FC legacy, So we should all be glad to even be here And congradulate and give a big pat on the back to the men (Max & Biff) who are taking thier personal time and $effort$ to carry us into the next generation of Badassness!! I am glad to see the legacy is being carried onward and not just going away completely, I am one of many who have found thier solace in your efforts through the FC website & it's prercursor. This venture will prove to be a great success!! A great big THANKS!! to MadMax & Biff !!!!!!!

OK - Here's my opinion....I agree the name isn't as catchy as the Cirkus (cleverly mispelled) but at this point the name isn't as important as it was with a completely new site. So far the site promises to be just as good or even better than the old one so that is what matters. As far as the archived info, I'm sure with most of the same folks around, if you ask the question, they can get you the info again. As a pure 3D junky, I found that FC was the best place to go. Sounds like this will still be the case so who cares what we call it. |

I really really really like the site, and the fact that Max and Biff are here, among the many others is most excellent! Those two and JeeUm are always cracking me up.... and they are all here. My comment was only on the name. The drama is no issue with me, other than morbid curiosity.... no need to go there. When I said the name was 'GAY' it was my word to describe a less than optimum moniker. It was certainly not meant to offend those of you who choose to land on the 'other' end of the runway. The name is what it is.... but the rest is why I am here. Peace, james vanwinkle (used to be falconfixer) |
