Just signed up for the site. Looks great so far. I am back in the hobby for the 3rd. time (now retired) and am looking forward to a lot of flying. I just got back at it a couple of months ago and have been flying a plane I built about 25 years ago. I upgraded to a new radio/receiver and dropped in a new engine. Someone at the field said ALL ariplanes have a date on them. I didn't understand what he meant till that night he put one in and said "Today was it's Date". Now I know. My old plain suffered a fatigue break (the wings folded) the other night and after all those years it becam a kit again. I have a Cub that is not quite as old with about a 6 1/2 ft. span. It will be going out to the field likly today for it's first flight in years. Yes, it has new electronics as well.
I have 4 or 5 kits on the shelf for this winter. One is a Giant Aeromaster which will be gas powered with smoke. From there I hope to go bigger. I look to find lots of good info on this site.
