Default This is Finland calling...

Hello folks!

I'm a new guy to the world of Giant Scale gassers.

I'm assembling (building) Aerotech RC Pitts Python. As I will fly IMAC style aerobatics I'll have the following setup:

DA-50
Graupner SMC-19 SPCM Rx (same as JR 900S) [We have 35 MHz...]
2x 2300 -2500 mAh Li-Po for receiver
2x Smart-Fly adj Reg with failsafe
Smart-Fly opto kill switch
1700 mAh NiCd for ignition
Hitec HS 645MG on rudder
Hitec HS 625MG on all other surfaces

Any input?

Otto

Hey and first of all welcome to the giants! That sounds like a really cool plane you have..including the setup! Do you have any pictures you can upload?? What type of color scheme or graphic package will you be getting?? Will you be having smoke to go with the Pitts, I guess it would look really, really good!? Thanks and enjoy the site! Jack

Jup, they make silicon wafers. I used to drive by it in my previous job.

It's in the yellow and black Pitts Python color scheme with Pitts Python graphics. SOrry, no pics to upload just yet. I only have ailerons hinged by now. I put Robart hinge-points instead of the supplied CA-hinges. To the tail I'll put large scale Du-Bro pin-hinges (flat). The tail surfaces are so thin, I don't drilling them for hinge-points as a good idea. Therefore the flat pin-hinges.
Smoke is under consideration, but not coming in phase one. It would look really cool, but I'll let it be for now.

Welcome to the giants.

I'd recommend using better servos liek 5945 on all surfaces and 5955 on the rudder. If money is not an issue, go 5955 on all suraces and you'll never have to deal with gear wear due to the titanium geartrain. I ran the 645 on a 50cc plane and they developed noticeable slop after 20 flights.
