I've been into RC flight for many years, but have gotten on a side trip with electrics for the past few years.
Electric flight has come a long way in recent times, but still and all, there is nothing like a lumbering large-scale aeroplane with a petrol engine.
Back in 1999, I decided to get a large-scale airplane with a reasonable gasoline-burning powerplant. Didn't want "yet another" Cub with a Zenoah. So, since my "first year of quit smoking" was coming up and I had a fair amount to spend on a new toy, I sprung for a 1/4 scale PZL Wilga, modelled by Alexander Frisch and decided to power it with a Brison 4.8 Twin. One thing led to another and this project got backburnered for a while, but I've gotten back on this as a Winter project (but may not finish til Spring if it gets too cold to paint).
Large scale/gas has come a long way in 8 years, so I'll be checking in regularly...
