Default Back after a break

Hello everybody,
I was well into RC up untill the late seventies then sorta dropped out, to many other things got in the way so I had to do them, playing loadsa rock was the big one but then I got fed up with it and decided enough was enough and quit. Twenty five years later and all the kidz grown up I started to get the itch to bash some more balsa! I really missed the hobby off and on all the way thru the 25 years. So i build this 63" span old trainer - buy some radio gear and a four stroke, put it all together and went out (on my own) and opened the throttle! Airborne after all this time and you dont forget! Landed this floater like it was yesterday! Rejoined my old club, and a year on I am building this monster 96" span 31cc gas powered beast that will take to the skies in the spring, will keep ya posted.

Hey Jim,

Glad to see you here mate. I heard its a bit like riding a bike. Once you get the basic parts burnt into the non volatile memory your right to go even 25 years later.

Mate you'll have a ball of fun on this site for sure. We've got tons of tempting videos and articles that will keep you busy for years to come. If you ever need help dont be scared to yell out here. No one bites, well not yet anyway.

Glad you found us and again welcome to your new home. Its gets hard to log off here some times.

Hello Jim,

Welcome to the Giants!!

As Kiwi said, there's a ton of stuff to read and see here. It sounds like you have been re-bitten by the bug, it's a shame, isn't it? There you are, just minding your own business, and that dang bug jumps right at ya' and BANG, it's too late, you're a gonner. Another good man being led down this road of meyhem and expenditure.

It sure is good to have you join our site, enjoy and come back often.

Glad to have you back Jim. Once bitten by the modeling bug, it's usually for life! There might be spells without flying anything, but you will be back! Welcome to the Giants Jim, proud to have you. Great bunch of guys who share the modeling bug. Enjoy!

Jim,

I did the same thing. Was gone from the hobby for over 20 years. I have been back for a year and a half. All I can say is RUN. It is an addiction. In the last year And a half I have spent as much time as possible Building, repairing, flying, and thinking about these "Toy Planes". They have consumed what was once called my Life.

All Joking aside welcome back to the air, and welcome to the site. You will enjoy the People, information, and humor here.
