Default Greetings Programs

Hi everyone!

New to the site, somewhat new to RC planes.

I love to build, have been a scale modeler for many years. Planes, cars, boats... About 12 years ago I built a p-51 balsa kit for fun (.40 size), not really knowing what I was getting myself into. Needless to say it was "gone in 60 seconds" and I have have been discouraged ever since.

Recently I had the opportunity to mess around with the g4 slight sim and ended up picking up g3 off e-bay. After many, many, many hours of flying the KEtana in the sim I decided to go ahead and dive back in. I picked up a Funtana 100x (os .91 4stroke) after some recommendations by a local hobbyists.

I just want to know if im making another mistake. My friend has many years of experience to offer but I'm not 100% certain I'll be able to handle this plane. FYI I dont have any issues managing the KEtana (closest plane I could find to the funtana in the sim) while messing around with the program. That would include landing with a decent crosswind and the usual acrobatics, not that I am head over heels with aerobatics’ as scale is most appealing to me right now.

I do value his opinion but when I take the controls I wont be tethered into him for safety and I'm not certain how close to "real life" the simulation actually is.

Thank you for your opinions and I look forward to getting back into scale if all goes well.

welcome to the giants, the sim is a great way to learn how to fly. I learned that way. The funtana is a good plane, as a first plane, just keep the throws way down and you should be okay
