Hey dude. Glad you got back and man you put on some great jet demos, that one on Friday with the roll out at low altitude and high speed, only you could have pulled that off that nice and smooth. Great flying dude.

Thanks Mike, that was a close one! LOL, and once I get some more flights on the Ultra, I should be able to get it a bit closer to the ground! LOL, I had just test flown her a few days before heading up there. Pretty crazy.

Hey Dave,

Glad to have you on board!

There's some great stuff to see and read here, take your time when you check it out, you won't want to miss anything.
I fly a little Pattern myself, my new plane for this year is an El Nino. I'm looking forward to the start of the season. As a matter of fact, the first contest is the first weekend in June, and I don't even have the first flight on the plane, not good...

Welcome to the Giants!!!

Hey Ken,

Thanks, I'm trying to get my Astral XX finished up, my brother started it for me since I had to get my 2.6 Xtreme Edge done for the Nall.

Should have the Astral going in the next 2 or 3 weeks and then off to practice at least 3-4 days a week and drag my bro along and get him tuned up for the NATS (as if he really needs it? lol).

Hi David,

I just joined the Giants and see your post. Thanks again for taking the time to help me on the flight line at the Nall. Some of the other hot shots I asked for a spot were too busy outdoing each other to bother with an old geezer like me! That's okay, I dimly remember what it was like to be young!

One of my fav things to do is RC combat, and next time we do something like a combat demo at Top Gun I'll be bringing a plane for you to fly if you have time to join in.

I asked Bob Saddler (hope I got the name right) if a combat demo at next year's Joe Nall would be welcome, and he sounded positive about it but I don't have his e-mail yet to chat with him about it.

Hope to see you again soon,

Chris Handegard

Aloha David,

Sue & I got in from the Joe Nall Sunday at midnight and really feeling it today.
In Melbourne today, Its 93 degrees, (roofdeck on top of the stores 130F) high humidity & the air is full of smoke from all the muck fires.
I really miss that cool clean air in S.C.
It was well worth it though, we both had a great time even though I did not get much flying in...
It was great to see you, Jason & your Dad as well.
Will we be seeing more flying on the prop from you in the future???

Hey Chris, not a problem man, anytime you need a spotter let me know. Did you get your muffler situation sorted out? Big 10-4 on the combat!!!!! That's always a blast.

I'm hoping to get my smoke system installed this weekend on my Edge and go test it out.

Hey Dan, great seeing the both of you as well, I'll be around a lot more now as I'm getting out of my truck hobby and wheel business and concentrating on flying full time (and work, I guess! LOL).

Dave, Yes got the muffler prob fixed on Fri. with an expert weld job on a header that had cracked. The guys who helped me out really did a great job on it. I got a couple flights Fri afternoon thanks to them. I slept in on that rainy Sat. morn so didn't fly again at the Nall because we had to leave at noon.

Flew at my home field on Sun. and on second flight discovered that the end of one cannister had blown out! That may be why it sounded a bit loud on Fri. I thought it was the prop! This is the third time the end has blown out of a canister and Gerhard says he's going to talk to 3W about it.

Yeah, combat's a blast, but it can be a hard sell sometimes getting pilots to try it. Hopefully we'll see one of the Orlando area clubs hold a contest this year. I'm trying to get more of it going in South Fl. at the two clubs I fly with.

I'll be going to a contest in Ga. in two weeks and then the AMA Nats for Combat in July. After that probably take a breather and do other things. I'ld like to build a giant scale warbird, maybe something cool like a P-38.

Later, chris
