Default Hi for the UK

Awsome site!! Pretty new to the model flying scene and still learning on small stuff but can't wait to launch a giant YAK as soon as my thumbs are capable.

What would you say where the top three differences between flying small 3D'ers and Giant scale??

Cheers.

Hey Norton,

Great to have you on board!!

Thanks for the compliment on the site, props to the bosses for that one!!

There is probably a better forum to ask that question, maybe in the "clubhouse", you will get a lot more exposure. In my opinion the top differences are,

1. Speed perception, the small plane looks faster.
2. Maneuvers are slower and bigger as the size goes up.
3. Handling of the larger aircraft is easier because of a more forgiving attitude
in reception of your stick input, in essence, when you move the stick the plane
moves less drastically.

Bottom line is, bigger flies better!!

I know there may be a lot of different answers out there, these are mine.

Welcome to the Giants!!!

Default Re: Hi for the UK

hi m8 im in the UK too
my biggest is a yak, with a 160 in it.
although i have flown a friends 44% giles,

i noticed for , that on downlines, there was much more momentum in the aircraft which was amazing, downlines were more constant and the plane glides forever.
Awesome !
