Default Hello From NY, Giant scale wanabee here

Hi guys, just wanted to say hi to the fellow giant scale guys here on the forums. I just witnessed some 40% planes this past weekend for the first time at a fly-in in Gilbertsville NY. that Elie guy was there and a few other guys from the new england area and was completely taken back by what these guys were doing. I cant seem to get these plane out of my head. I am still flying a trainer but hope someday with alot of practice to be at 1/2 the level of some of those guys.

I misread the city you are from. We have a Cortlandt that is northern Westchester county about 30 minutes away!

Rob, welcome to the Giants.

We don't care what you fly as long as you enjoy it. Yep the giant scale is impressive, and there are some great pilots out there. I'm with you on wanting the skill of Elie and others. This year has been amazing to me, it was the first time that I had a chance to see some of these guys in person. I too was blown away.

As for getting to the skill level of those pilots, the only way is to practice. fly every chance you get. I have made great improvements in my flying by destroying a lot of foam out beside the house. I have gone through about 20 foamies this year and am now doing stuff with them that I would not have thought possible at the begging of the year.

Take a look around at the forums, there is a lot of good information. The media galleries are full of photos and videos from the members. If you have any questions be sure to ask. The members of the site are a great source of information.

Again, welcome to the Giants family.

Hi Rob
Glad you liked the action at Gilbertsville, remember we all started flying a trainer and moved up, I am sure you can do the same, good luck.
