I used to fly with that club when it was on Richmond Rd. (5 min from my house) How is the new field? I heard it was kind of small for big planes. I now fly at the Ravenna Thunder Birds field (nice for big planes) and once in a while out at Thompson Drag way. Ravenna has 2 fields Jetway airport (BIG!!) and the Dimond field (nice but has a patch of trees that eats planes) 1 - 3:30??? man.... WORK.... can't do... They don't do Saturday nights anymore? What really stinks is I pass that golf dome everynight when i leave work and go to pick up my kids! And I eyeball it every night and think.... ahhhhhh let me in!! i want to fly!

Honestly the new field is alright for larger nitro and 1/4 scale, but anything larger than a 30% forget it. Well it could be done but with limitations#@%#@. Plus its on a hill and man it is always windy, what the F#@$. I have been looking for a new place to fly as there has been alot of interference at our field and just need a new vibe!!!! How far from the dome is your field? I wish they still did the weekend/evening thing at the dome, but we are just fillers to the sports crowd. Fortunately I have my own business and can work around there schedule.. Try to get a sick day and get out of the winter blues. There are only and handful of pilots which mean more space for us 3Der's. Its a blast, see if you can make it ,just look for the guy with 1" stretched earlobes. Im hard to miss in this crowd . Take it easy SleepyC.......One more thing, maybe we can find a way in when no ones looking. My kids love running around in there and it wears them out!!! |

Hell yea. The Ravenna Field is about 1 hour away... from East Cleveland, probably the same from the dome. The field is pretty chill, and its an actual landing strip for real planes so its BIG... an the surrounding field is an alphalfa field during the summer, so I had my F90 flame out, and I flopped into the grass and it came out 100 perfect. Got a few BIG scalers heading out with me now. So its starting to be fun. I got sleeved arms so I'm easy to spot as well. (not easly mistaken as a 65 year old circle flyer) As soon as it's not -500 degrees out side we'll have to Fly. WERD.
