ok im in agreeance with eury......i know who people who get whatever they want. i on the other hand have to work for it and that makes me apreciate my stuff even more. wait your turn until you can get one.....idea how about a 30% instead of 33%. anyway quit your wining and work more and save more. if other people are more fortunate, its because there parents struggled to be the best they can to give their child what they didnt have. im not fortunate to have rich parents either but im not bitching because i see people like that and im jelous. i go and i work harder and anyone else so i can afford it! i worked 35 hours a week (i was 15) last summer between being a host/foodrunner at a restaurant and mowing lawns and now, i have the plane i wanted!

FYI he only misspelled one word in the original post. Thats why i suggested Word since that program doesn't just check spelling it also helps with grammar.

If your going at me,I will retort and you wont like what I have to say.

ps; this proves the crew here at the flying giants are hypocrites! It took less than 1 hour for them to delete my post that wasn't making fun of any one yet this pos post has been left here all day thats begging for me to get nasty with a response.

Hypocrites? Do you think we read every single post on this site? We've specifically asked our users in the past to report bad posts to us that we miss. If you had done that and given us a chance to take care of it instead of attacking us, you probably wouldn't have gotten so upset.

Like I said, if we catch something then it's gone. If we don't, then we rely on the users to let us know. I haven't read this thread because it has nothing to do with me. As soon as I did and saw that reply I killed it.

Just stumbled onto these forums and signed up. I'm a member of rcgroups, but this one looks like a cool forum too. Anyways, just thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents worth.

My dad has always been super supportive. He's a pilot himself (like the real planes) and has been flying rc on and off since he was in college. So he was happy to help me get into rc. I didn't actually start to get interested till about grade 10 (age ~17 I guess) and everday I kick myself for not starting earlier I could have started as early as I wanted and he would have taught me. But what can you do...I was too into sports, computers, and girls at that age I guess! Anyways despite all his support, my parents never made alot of money, so buying new rc stuff was not a priority. So we flew what we had. More recently I have been doing more of the buying.

I'm new to the 3D scene and have only flown .40 sized planes and park flyers. Like the original poster of this thread, I am amazed everytime I see/read about a 15 year old and his gassers. One day I hope I'll have the skill to fly one of those (because I know its only a matter of time before I have the money ). But for now, till I finish University and start working and making money, I'll be sticking to my small stuff.

My parents don't pay for my stuff but I cant complain. They send me to a private school and they help me keep my priorities straight. I teach tennis in the summer and umpire little league baseball games to pay for it-that gives me enough to pay for glow planes and hopefully this summer a 50cc. Even though they dont let me fly as much as I want to, its only because they want to make sure I don't end up holding myself back/slacking off by spending to much time on planes. Overall, when you think about it were all really lucky...in alot of countries, kids would do anything for a piece of bread. Besides, who cares if a 13 year old kid has a 35%...I can have just as much fun flying a .40 sized fun fly...its all about attitude Happy flying

You have to "know" some people in the hobby to get anywhere. No offense.
You need to appreciate what you have right now. When I was your age I was picking other guys crashed planes out of the garbage can at the field, then taking them home fix, and fly. I have a 14 month old son right now and if he takes a liking to r/c then he will have all of the cool stuff too. He will earn it though. Think of it this way, there are kids out there that wish they could have what you do. Everybody always wants what they don't have. Your 17, it will come in due time. Work, and save your money. Things don't happen overnight. It takes hard work and determination. It just amazes me, how much kids today want. This technology didn't even exist when I was your age. Fly what you have and just have fun.
