hey guys i am the same way. back in the day( middle school) i met this guy named rob and he flew rc up in michigan with his dad and i got him back into it when he moved to NC. now me and him are the 3d champs of the club. he's the only teen i know of that flys rc at my school though.most other kids are just interested in other things but when i fly demo's at school alot of people seem interested. i just think this hobby doesnt get broadcasted enough or in other words it doesnt get its respect that it deserves, i wish i had more than one friend to talk to but thats what the other guys at the field are for ya know. that and i dont post alot of stuff on here but im on here reading stuff all the time and its nice to know that im not the only 16 year old on here to lol

hes one of those kids that kinda had his parents buy him into flying

im not saying i wouldnt love to have any plane i wanted at anytime in the day
but its when he talks big
and then gets schooled by me
that i just have to laugh and appreciate that i did it the long way like trying to hover my trainer the first time i saw yuri hover hahaha

haha all this stuff is so true! everyone else at scool is into different stuff while u sit there and think bout what new manouver ur going to do on the weekend. dont know about u guys but my club has mainly old fellas in it that think a low inverted pass about half a foot above the ground it bloody stupid, so grateful for the few younger members there is
my scool has only about 300 students (they all know i luv flyen) i guess i dont really hide the fact. they take me as i am! every time a plane flyies over my mates are like "hey paul theres a plane!" lol makes ya laugh. do a few demos or show them your planes they appriciate the hobby a bit more . cause remember tecnology is cool when were teens

It's the same with me-I'm the only RC pilot in my school apart from another boy whos dad fly's so he kinda knows what im talking about but he's more into rc cars

The other day in school we got an assignment to write a short essay with pictures of our hobbies and interests surrounding it ,so being into planes-I stuck pics of 3-D planes in action around my essay and when the other kids at school saw it they just laughed and made fun of me and i got a really weird look from the teacher-they think this is just playing with toy planes but they have no idea

that ignorance is exactly what is holding our hobby back. Im not a scale plane freak like i tell mike(pitviper) I dont care for scale planes or helis im a aerobatic addict. I showed some people a video on my ipod the other day. They were more interested in the ing smoke than what the plane was doing. Its frustrating at times

i was flying my extreme flight extra 300 for my class last year on the last day, and some of the kids started throwing rocks at it and then you hear this chant,, crash it, crash it! basically they think it's a toy airplane and i can gyu another one at the dollar store.... when i told them how much it osts one klid tried to step on it....
man i hate those kids.

That is what keeps a lot of people out of it. Teens would rather sit on their butt and play video games. I cant stand to stay indoors I have to be outdoors doing something so that is why I fly. Anything I buy is rc related now.

i took some balsa and made a little profile katana and CA'ed it to my pencil haha

Same here too.At school they never make fun out of me of my r/c palnes.In my culb There arent teens at my age there are more old flyers 20-80ages and some times iI eel loney at the field.There arent a lot of 3d pilots its a very small island.I wish i can make a 3Dteam.
