had this same thing happen to me. after school i went home and came back ( live 2 blocks away) with my plane allot of kids were still there and i was flying. they came over with a stick and tried to whack my mini funtana x when i was hovering it, f***ing pissed me off. i would have kicked thier a** if i didnt have my plane with me. they would prob smash it when i wasnt looking

I was heavy into 1/10 scale buggies in middle school and hardly had anyone to talk to. The "interweb" wasn't widespread back in the early 90s, so I only had RC Car Action as a source for info. Those were sad times. lol

I have had the same problem, 2 of my friends have RC cars and when I ask them if they would ever try a plane they say its to expensive or they wouldnt be able to go to a field.

And about those kids who laugh at what you do I told this one guy who was saying flying toy airplanes is stupid to come to a IMAC and once he saw all the 40% planes he starts asking me questions on how much and the usual questions you get from people who seem interested.

I guess a lot of them think that they are just toys you can get from Wallmart for under $100 and you dont need no skill you can just buy one and fly it right away.

Yeah were all in the same boat as far as nobody else your age caring about rc. All the fags at my school spend 600 bucks on a PS3, Xbox 360 and the newest games... half the guys in my grade walk around sayin "newb, pwn, boom head shot" I cant take it. What we need is all of us get together this summer and hang out and fly. Thats why I try to go to every event I can hitch a ride to. I'm gonna try to make it down to YM again this year because it was the best time I ever had at an event. Huckfest was just off the hook!

getting laughed at or being made fun of for what you love to do can be tough.

i went through the same crap thru school and still get laughed at to this day when people ask what my hobby is. It's just something you'll have to get used to and dont let anyone affect what makes you feel good or what your good at.

Guys that laughed at me through school now say that they wish that they would have learned how to do something cool, instead of learn how to drink and party and play all the ridiculous video games
