My wife has come out to the field twice for all of 10 minutes. If I were single, I think I'd wait until after I had her hooked before I showed her the planes.

Talking Re: ever try to tell a girl about our hobby

Once I met a girl at the airport, we started talking and I mentioned I'm a pilot.
So one thing led to another and finally she asked: "So what kind of planes do you fly?"
I looked out the window and saw a lone Hercules taxing to the active runway.
I said: "Do you see that one, that is a C-130. I fly a C-152!"

I know you guys are joking around about this but there are very good ways to explain the airplanes to women. First off make sure your not talking about the plane as another person. This will help quite a bit. Second and this is a big one make sure her first encounter is with a BBQ or something like that with your flying freinds AND thier wifes. Even if you have to arrange it. Show her that you have met a lot of awesome people that really are great friends to you. Another thing to bring up is your very easy to find. Some guys are at Pole r us/ some on top of barstools/ If it is daylight you are in a cornfield getting sunburned or if it is night you are working on an airplane in the workshop. Bring out the positive in what you've acomplished by flying. If you really think about it there is a lot of other things you could be doing that have other women around they should be worried about!!

True dat. I had a pretty good looking girl come up to me one time at school telling me that she really liked my myspace pic and how she really liked how i posed with my planes. I said what do you mean by that. She said that she thought it was really cool on how i got two of my planes to crash right in front of me while i just stood there and took the picture. I started laughing and then i had to explain to here that i just put the planes up on there noses and then stood in the middle to take the picture. Man sometimes girls can be so clueless but you gotta love them

Besides the how high, far, fast, and expensive questions, it seems as if every other one is total ignorance and stupidity.

If I am ever with a hot girl I never even think about my airplanes, much less bring them up, and if she, (very rarely) even happens to see a picture of one somewhere at school I quickly divert from the subject.

The only thing that can come about from a conversation about airplanes with a girl is you being annoyed at her dumb remarks and her placement of you as a total ignoramus joke nerd kid in the back of her mind.
