Default 2007 Youth Masters Freestyle

OK gentlemen, I'm going to go ahead and try and organize the foamy freestyle. That being said if you would like to participate I would like you to burn a CD with ONLY the one track on it that you want to fly to. If you do not have the ability to burn a CD you can e-mail me the the song/mix to burn onto a CD and I can do that for you.

As far as help goes:
I am still trying to get a hold of some PA speakers and an Amp for the speakers to barrow.

Prizes for competitors Please if you have something laying around, that you arn't going to use please donate it, it's going to a good cause. Please If You Have Something And You Don't Need and Won't It, Please Donate That Something.

Lastly I will need a few people to help me who know are capable to judge the freestyle.
(EDIT: It was decided that if you are to fly in the freestyle you are not to judge :EDIT)

(Please PM me if you are able to aid me in any of these areas)

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each contestant will be given 4 minutes to fly his routine, his caller will say when he would like the music to start. The Time of judging will begin at the start of the music. A judge will call "TIME" once the 4 minutes has ended. Once the 4 minutes has ended, there will be no more judging on the routine. (EDIT: before these four minutes you may start your music and fly your plane around without calling for the judging to beging but you may not do any aerobatics before you call to begin the judging :EDIT)

I will have at the youth masters a paper for everyone to sign who will be in freestyle so I can call them as appropriate.

I believe that is all I can think of, if you have any questions please ask.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone can fly in this competition, If I get a moderate group of people over 16 I will create another class of pilots (about 3 or more people), but otherwise it will all be one group.

Do you have to be 16 years or younger to compete in the freestyle?

Last year, the contestants that did NOT fly in the freestyle were the ones that judged, if I remember correctly. That is good, IMHO, since all the contestants are involved one way or another, and no one that flys also judges.

In a way, if you are a contestant and you do judge, even if you don't actually judge yourself, you still affect your own score. If the person judges everyone harshly compared to the other judges (not wrong or biased necessarily) but does not judge his/her own flight, their own score will go up.

Lets see how many people we have available to judge that are not contestants, I am sure we can easily have a panel of at least 5 judges which should be more than enough.

I would volunteer to judge, but my son will be flying and I will be his caller/helper.

Can our caller also call when the judging starts? i.e. if i have 5 seconds of music intro before my freestyle actually starts, can the judging begin at that point?

To me it would be nice to actually have 10-15 judges. I know it seems a lot though.

I think this is a great idea, these are the kind of sugestions that I was hoping to get. You do have an excellent point in what you have stated.

This sounds acceptable, a call to enter the box may work which will indicate the start of the judging. Another call may be asked to the DJ to begin the music. I think we should agree though that no aerobatics be preformed before the judging begins though.

Exactly, just positioning turns to get onto your entry heading. Sounds good.

Guys I would really like to get some donation offers or promises. Some of you said you would look around for something, but the youthmasters is right around the corner and I'm afraid I don't have any. I don't want to pressure anybody in to buying something but I would certainly appreciate that something that isn't being used.... I am sure I can scrounge up a lipo or something, and if not I will go ahead and buy a towerhobbies gift card to get the ball rolling.
I am going to check but I think I have a reasonably good .46 motor that I will donate if it's not being used.

Thanks ya'll, I appreciate all the help and support.
