| Teen Scene Staff ![]() | IMO having it all centered around IMAC, like requiring you succesfully competed in IMAC, is not such a great idea. Atkleast I, don't know that many kids that have gone around competeing in IMAC, I think that for the biggest turnout, you should let in anyone under 18 that is proficeint (sp?) at aerobatics.

As for the freestyle: IMO let any plane compete to give the insanely talented kid with a funtana 90 a chance. As long as they actually have the skills to keep up with the competition, I don't think the plane should be a limiting factor in the freestyle. Do you think the selection of freestyle pilots should be directly related to the level of precision the pilot is flying?

| Super Contributer ![]() | All valid points and good questions. I hope Biff can maybe shed some light on this very topic as I can see how we may get well off the type of competition at hand as everyone will want to enter. Soon the guys flying helis and foamies will want to enter. LOL! I feel we need to make it somewhat simple and defined as to the level of flying skills and the type of aircraft. Again, those that are new or have lesser skills can still fly at the Youth Masters at more of an entry level. However, if pilot numbers are down, we may have to introduce another class, such as pattern, or glow etc. to get enough participation I feel, though, if there is a really good valued prize at stake, then we should get enough pilots to fill the field. Any thoughts? |

| L'ectrics r COOOOOL!!! ![]() | Brett, Yes I think the selection of freestyle pilots should be a little more refined versus flying patterns. I think anyone should be allowed to fly the patterns as far as IMAC/Pattern styles go but have maybe a plane size limit as far as like 2 meter and up or 90 sized and up, but I think to keep things fitting in the schedule, the freestyle pilots should be selected by maybe a video submission process or contest history process or resume....

Scott, Seeing as how the freestyle does not historically have seperate classes for different skill levels, I agree. The choice of freestyle pilots would definitely need to be pretty stringent to keep it competitive. As far as the patterns though, I don't think accepting everyone is the right thing to do. As far as I can tell, Tom is envisioning this event as one of a little more stature, where only the best are actually competing. Cajun, I still think that the pilots would have to have a history in precision. Being "proficient in aerobatics" is different than being a precision flyer. At the beginning of last year I could torque roll 2 feet from my face but I couldn't make a cuban 8 symmetrical (still can't most the time! I hate those things). It's an entirely different ball game!

| L'ectrics r COOOOOL!!! ![]() | Brett, Thats honestly what I was thinking but idk why I typed the opposite. I agree we also need to regulate the patterns. I love the idea of keeping it more professional and not so much "just there for the fun." Don't get me wrong I only do this for the fun, but I think this should be an event that you should have to PRACTICE for to win, and you should go there with the mindset that you want to win, just as anyone who goes to the XFC or the Shootout has.

| Super Contributer ![]() | Brett, you're exactly right! My vision for this is to be the BEST OF THE BEST! I want guys, like yourself, that eat, sleep, and breathe R/C. I want the guys that are out there burning gas every week. I want the guys that burn with desire deep inside themselves to be the next QQ or Jason Schulman, etc. I want the guys that never take "I can't" for an answer at the same time maintaining a positive attitude. I want the guys that always have a smile on their face, even when the chips are down. You guys are making some excellent points, and I am taking note of all of them. Keep the great ideas coming. If we work like this all year on it, I can only imagine how great this will turn out. Tom |

| The Dominator ![]() | some really great ideas you guys have...I was thinking today after my fcat testing..lol....how about sequences that are made to fly at this event "only"...like masters or xfc where they post a sequence, then you have to practice it for the contest......That way those who are in unlimited and those who are in intermediate fly the same sequence.....This would make it alot more exciting.

| Previously Mother Huckin! ![]() | I'm really liking how all of this is sounding ![]() As long as everyone keeps the motivation to go through with it I'm really excited at the prospect of competing with so many teens with the same skills and ambitions as myself. Too bad we're going to have to wait a whole year and half before any of it becomes a reality ![]()

| L'ectrics r COOOOOL!!! ![]() | Brett, I agree this is very exciting. I think if we continue to get all things necessary thought out right now like we are doing, it will carry on to add itself alongside the XFC, ETOC, and Shootout.
