Default Re: The Young Guns Championship Tournament

Just and update of sorts on this:

After much thought and discussion we have decided that the size of the aircraft will determine the flightline.

The aircraft must be at least 27% and must be a scale aerobatic type.

You may run glow, gas, or electric (just in case someone has a plane this size with glow or and electric set up) but it must be at least a 27% scale model.

I know this may cut some of you out, but we have to limit it somewhere.

This is to be a grande event. just as an XFC or Don Lowe. You don't see .40 size planes here. The best pilots, the best aircraft etc.

You guys are going to be treated just as if you were QQ out there competeing.

You guys come first and foremost. You won't have the "older" fliers or the club officials running you down the flightline bustin' your chops.

This is going to be a top level event!

We have also decided that there will be knowns and unknowns but event specific and flown in the IMAC style. These sequences will be exclusive to this event and not the regular known IMAC sequence.

I have some other things I will post in the near future but these are a couple that I know you guys have been asking me about.

Feel free to PM me if you have something that you want to privately direct to me.

Thanks!

Tom

Tom, this sounds AWESOME! Can't wait for it now. we'll definitely have to have a campout like the YM last year.

Hey guys,

This is just a couple shots of the field here. This field is appx. 560' but will be 800' plus by the time of the event.

Also, in 07' we will have beans planted in back instead of corn which will give it more of an open feel. There are absolutely no obsticles in the flight area. No trees, hills, structures, anything (just the ground) - wide open.

These pictures are taken from the center of the field looking left and right.

As I get more pictures I will post them.

Tom

Brian,
Thanks for your help. I definately will need judges and may need to call on you!

We have decided to use 5-7 judges to judge each event. I would like to get a pool of 10-15 judges so they can get a break in between.

Thanks for your input!

Tom
