| BigHuckinTrick3D! ![]() | I tried my hand at IMAC basic this year and it sounds as though this might be the event to bring me up to speed to compete in the sportsman class of IMAC ![]() I just can't wait to get my hands on one of those beautiful planes that probably are perfectly balenced and a dream to fly. I'll be there no matter what!!! Can't wait! Oh also no garunties as of yet but I do have a foamie and in time I think I might be able to pull of a suckie freestyle pattern but having fun is the point so count me in for now

| Super Contributer ![]() | Anyone else want to participate in a 4 minute foamie freestyle contest to music at the Youth Masters? Skill isn't that important. Just throw together some music and fly. It is all in fun and gets to give you a chance to experience being in front of a crowd flying at the best flying field in the world! Biff even said he might be able to get a couple foamies together for those that didn't bring one so they could enter the contest too. Lets make it happen! Tom |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | Hey Andrew. Danny here. I have been talking to Wayne Geffon about the YM, and possibly going this year and bringing my son Brendan if things work out for us to be able to go. I was wondering, as to everything that I have been reading here about it, the planes are furnished so that everyone is using the same equipment. Are the kids going to be able to do any practicing before competing to get a feel for the planes and for the way they fly and are set up ? Wayne came down and flew with us and spent the day with us last year, we had a blast. Im planning to get with Wayne hopefully sometime this spring and spend a day flying with him possibly up on his turf, I am in the process of putting together with my son a QQ Yak 85 that he got for Christmas, DA 50 and JR servos. Thought it best to get with someone who has experience with an IMAC/3D style of plane to make sure its all set up correctly, so Wayne is going to help us when we get ready. Ive got another question also and possibly you can answer since you spend quite a bit of time there at as to the facilities. I am paralized from the waist down and in a wheelchair, how are the facilities there as to the rest rooms and stuff ? I know from reading some stuff about thier place there that people do bring motor homes and trailers and things and stay there during events. Do they have electric hookups and stuff for people who bring motor homes or just kind of camp out while there ? Are you able to stay on the facility for the YM ? Thanks for any info you can help me with. |

| Super Contributer ![]() | Dan nO, I may be able to answer a couple of your questions. Yes, they do furnsh the aircraft and every child will fly the Triple Tree aircraft. No one flies their own. Also, the child will not take off and land. Most likely it will be Andrew that will do all the take off and landings for the pilots. Each child will get one extra pass at the start his sequences to get used to the aircraft. (It doesn't seem like much time to get used to the plane but they have the planes dialed in perfectly and I never saw that this was ever an issue with anyone. However, you can come down the day before, Sadler told me he would be sure the gates were open Thursday morning, bring your child's own plane and they will be able to fly and practice with it up until the start of the event. Last year there were probably 5-6 kids that came early with their own planes. Also, bring their foamies. The kids all stayed up until 3 am last year flying their foamies under the lights. This year I am going to try to get an evening foamie freestyle event going for the boys to fly to their own music and own planes so bring your foamies. Yes, they let you camp right at the facility. There is no hook ups for the RV's but plenty of places to park them. We just pitched a tent right up in front by the gazebo and camped right there for the whole event. They have nice hot showers and rest rooms right there you can use, all for free. As far as the handicap accessible, I can't really remember if there was a ramp to the rr's or not. I know there was one child that competed and was in a wheelchair. Maybe someone else can help out on this one. I know there will be plenty of people there, myself included, that will assist you in any way we can! I do know that everywhere else you go everything is at ground level and should be no problem for you. I know Carol expressed to me that they kind of frown on any of the adults flying this whole weekend. They want to keep it for the youth and youth only although there were a couple parents there that flew any way. It just makes it nice when the kids come early and fly and don't have to compete with airtime because some of the parents are flying. Hope the helps! This year is to be a two day event with more aircraft and flight time so it should be better than ever. Pat, Carol, Biff and the gang go all out for the young guys including lunch. All at no cost whatsoever for the youth. My hats off to them for a great job! Tom Arnold |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | Thanks Tom. I get around very well on my own and let very little stop me or slow me down, but that doesnt mean that there isnt ever any obsticles to work around lol. My son Brendan has never competed at all, he turned 14 last Sept. He has been flying the heck out of the Aerofly Pro flight sim, doing pretty well. He got a QQ Yak 85 inch for Christmas, waiting to get a DA 50 and JR servos to put in it, aint decided yet on whether to get the Duralite or Fromoco batteries yet....its all a work in progress at this time, gonna be a little while yet finishing it up. Brendan is flying my Showtime right now, YS 140, has tons of power and flies really well, Mark Leseberg really liked it when he flew it back in January when he was here with us. Im debating as to what to do if we do decide to come. Ive got an enclosed 18 foot car trailer that I use for all of my airplanes, built racks and stuff in it to haul everything, it has a fold down bunk bed that folds up on the wall, pretty neat cause its up out of the way when your not using it. Dont know whether to pull that thing and stay in it while there so we could stay right there and camp or get a motel, 382 miles from here, I dread the drive lol, will just wait and see when time gets closer i guess. Anyways, thanks for the info that you were able to provide, I appreciate it. Danny |
