Just wondering, but how do y'all afford this? I'm 16 and work at the waterpark here as a lifeguard. The pay is great for a high school job, but I still can barely afford my Katana Mini, one foamy, and the PZ Stryker that make up my fleet. How in the world can you guys go getting big ol' gassers and slimers? Just wondering, Ryan |

Don't worry your time will come. The age where you will earn the most will be between 30 and 50. Even in the animal kingdom this is the age when you are at your most powerful and successful at bringing home the "kill"

here's what you gotta do. convince your parents that you are in flight training to become a UAV pilot when you grow up and that all these model airplane expenses are actually "education costs"! lemme know if this works!

I started out when I was about thirteen. Quit when I turned sixteen, seems girls and cars were more exciting. Flew a little while in the military, still no money for planes then. Then when I was twenty seven decided to get serious. Now have ten giant scale planes the smallest of wich is 28%. Just keep working saving and flying you'll get there dude.

I've been flying this really bad ass ultra stick for 3 years now. I use only the best equipment. I'm talking bling bling here folks. Genuine futaba 3003's, a 128 and a 148 in there. Yep I like to mix it up for variety. Two of those servos have even had the wires spliced back together. Ive got a well abused ( ahem...I mean used) OS 46 FX on the front to give this baby hovering power at 95% throttle. Oh yeah, we're talking serious punch out power here. I didn't want to skimp on electronics either so I used the good stuff: 600mah flat nicad and a hobbico volt watch. And in case you're wondering, the receiver is top of the line too. I'm talking a futaba 127 picked up at Toledo for $40. Thats right, the good kind. PPM technology. I was goin' to run duals, but I know that this one is such an awesome piece of mid 90's manufacturing that I figured I could trust it. To top out this envy inducing setup, I have added a really nice dubro prop nut. You know everyone is using tru turns but hey, anybody can get $50 spinner. I went with the luxury dubro model. Everyone should spoil themselves sometimes. This has pretty much been by high school plane. Lots and lots of hours, and in all honesty TONS of fun. No pressure, easy to haul and actually quite good at precision flying. I've ripped the gear off (first flights with no reinforcement), had the tail snap off trying to do the hardest wall possible, cracked the wing hold down on both sides, torn the firewall loose after hitting a groundhog hole, smashed the LE on a limbo pole at a funfly, landed it upside down, the list goes on. Each time I repair it and keep flying her. Don't be jealous, someday you will be able to afford one like mine .

| RyGuy... Heres the break down... When your young, you have ALL the time in the world to do the things you love, but no money to afford the things you love. When your older, you have the money to afford the things you love, but NO time to enjoy the things you love, HOPEFULLY if all goes well.... When you are JUST PLAIN OLD... you have it all come together. Right now I'm in stage two. I work 55 hrs a week at a GOOD job, make good money, and can get what I want, but... I can't buy time to enjoy it. Enjoy all the time you can spend with what ever ya got, and don't worry about what you don't have, some day you're going to look back and realize what a great time it was!

At 16, you are making about 1/5-1/10th of what you should be making by the time you're 30+.

Yeah, I know. I'm just baffled at how kids in the 3D TEEN forums all seem to have F90s clear up the 100 CC gassers. I make $7 an hour, but I save most of it cause I'll have to buy a car and pay for college and everything. I don't know.
