Harv,

Thats the 64 million dollar question I would love to have a simple answer too.

I suppose it starts with what do you think you want the new plane for. IMAC, 3D or just flying around having fun.

Then up comes the dollar question. How much would you like to spend.

Do you have an engine in mind or access to a used one from a friend. Often those sorts of things dictate what way you go.

Obviously your looking at something aerobatic so you would likely be looking at the 50cc to say 80cc market. Theres not a lot of difference in price between the two but there is a huge difference in performance. As an example nearly all the 100cc sized planes today fly really well on the new generation 80cc engines. The 80cc is way cheaper than a 100cc twin, its lighter as well so you end up with a win win situation.

Regardless of what model of plane you want you really need something with a light wing loading.

There are some great suppliers out in the big old world with models that fit the bill.

Aviation Models
Composite ARF
Hanger 9
Aerotech
Radiowave
QQ Aircraft company
Dalton Aviation
Great Planes.

The list just goes on and on. They all have top class aircraft, there are a ton of great engine brands available. Servos are all good these days.

Like I said you asked the 64 million dollar question, I gave you 64 million possibilties.

Hope some of them help.

Welcome harv. Where in canada are you anyways. It all depends on what flying style you like although it looks like your in for a scale type airplane. Might i suggest a QQ aircraft 85 inch yak. I just got mine in the air last weekend and i am already in love. It will do anything you want whether its hardcore 3d such as rolling harriers and blenders. And it will also mellow down and do some nice precision. You name it and it looks good doing it. Get back to us and we will try to help the best we can.

i live in the lower mainland of BC, surrey. im 14. been flying for 3 yrs. ive been flying mostly sport. i got some smooth fingers. you wont belive me, but i could do low passes with a ultra sport 60, 3 inches off the ground. but i can imagine you guys doing that, but in a hover, thats wat i want, hardcore 3d. i know the owner of BME, i could get a deal on one of the BME planes. but i like the looks of bothe the yak, and the edge.

im looking for something under $2,000, if possible. im not to worried aboutthe plane, just engine, and servos. thats gonna cost me tooo much money. im looking for something in the 50cc range. like the QQ yak, or airwild extra 260.

cool. Takes balls to fly 3 inches off the deck. It takes skill to rolling harrier down the runway at 3 inches There are alot of plane to choose from but a deal is always good.

well for me the white version shipped to whobby wholesale was 630$

my zdz 60 was 600$ however i beleive that a new da 50 is 650 now plus a 50$ muffler

i have 4 5645s at 40$ a peice aswell as a 5955 which is 100$

Hardware was just under 100$ with etensions and control horns and everything.

Prop is 40$

receiver is 50$

batts are 50$ for the two nickel metals

that about sums it up right down to rtf. pull out my trusty calculator that comes to a total of....

$1830CAD for a white qq with a da 50 and a nice radio setup.

add about 150$ for the QS scheme.

so that sits right about in what you were looking to spend.Hope that was help mroe than it was a shock.Cheers
