I never could hover my u-can do 90 size or any other smaller aircraft for more than 10 seconds and it was an ugly ten seconds.. I switched to giant scale and its remarkably easier I am still no expert, but my fly buddies said I looked like I had gotten three times better when they watched me fly a 42% edge .. I tried my u-can do again and found that I havent gotten any better...at all..

im thinking about the 35% sukhoi i talked about in my other thread, but i dont have the money to buy that kinda stuff. maybe a 50cc, ill spend $2,000, but i cant spend like, 4,000-5,000$, on a big plane.

Remember though, there are things that are better left to learn with a small plane, yes they are harder, but once you got use to it and good with it, imagine how easy it will be to try with your first gasser, dont want to crash it!

I find that CG is a major thing. Anything at all nose heavy will be a fight all the way. Also prop choice is huge. On my profile i notice even a inch of prop difference. The responsiveness in the hover is really affected by that. Also you might wanna try to learn when its calm and at about 20 feet. The windier it is the harder it is when you havent got the reflexes down. And with the height thing it is really hard to hover up high. Not only can you not see it tipping its hard to tell if your tail sliding or climbing. Hope i helped. Youll get er eventually. happy flying.

guys i started to learn to hover about a year ago on and off. im no expert but i can hold it for about 30 s- minute or about 20 sec in a torque roll. i learned on profiles and my good old twist. i have to say, my accel katana was the easiest to torque roll. i just bought a new one before i went on vacation and finished it in two afternoons (one of the days i had to pack and work too!). my best advice to give is to come in low level (10 ft) at about 1/8 throttle. When it just passes you pull into a hover, wait till it slows and slowly add power. dont try to hang it just yet, get it to the point where its climbing very slowly. use rudder and elevator to correct. most of the time my aileron can keep it from rolling so ill add full left to spin it back around! practice makes perfect and this is one manuver that you have to fly low. if your too high you cant make the right corrections!

yeah my tmpro katana is great for hovering(it is practically the same as accel) this is my first and only profile so i dont know if all others are the same but it was my first one that i torked on the deck. and it basically hovers itself. The onnly time it can be more work is in the wind but its still not to hard.

I've been having MUCH better hovering lately. I moved the CG back quite a bit on the UcanDo and brought my expo on high rates up to 70%. Those two things made a world of difference!

hey there guys, I am having some trouble with my hover and harrier, i started 3d on my pattywagstaff extra with a da-50 and did harriers with that but my wings will constantly rock back and forth, now i have switched to an aviation models yak 54 with the same da-50 cause i thought it would be a better 3d plane but it still rocks in a harrier and when i do a hover i can't keep it from going into a tourqe roll even after i put in right aileron. some help is much needed guys.

I found out that the smaller the inputs the more stable he hover, but I still suck at it.
